I'm just waiting for my mom to call, she said in about 20 minutes she'll be taking my sister to the hospital. (her hubby is in Mexico waiting to get the ok to come into the country, he was here illegally before & got deported)

She's having a girl this time. My nephew just turned 2 a couple of weeks ago.

WHEEEEEE !!!!!! This is stress, but a good stress. *crossing fingers everything goes ok*

I was the one my sister chose to be in the delivery room with her when she had her baby. I held her leg, held her hand, encouraged her, ..... I watched my niece being born & I got to cut the cord. I am so exhausted. Too tired to feel what my mom said was on my face. I told her maybe I'll feel it when I wake up. (I've been up for 35 hours, baby was just born a couple of hours ago. It was a very long day of labor. She stalled out at 4cm & they wound up giving her petussin (sp?) & even then it went slowly. Once she was ready, though, man it was fast finally ! I just know I'm exhausted & feel like I could cry. I'm going to bed.

Oh, and her name is Elisa Michelle. (E-Lee-Sa)

I was taking ibuprofen all day for tooth pain (don't know what's going on with that), which normally doesn't touch my chest & back pain, but today I was able to help watch my nephew, help carry stuff around for my mom & sister, and help my sister while she was in giving birth, & not have any pain. The only pain I had was my sister's foot pushing against my hand. I prayed, "God, you're gonna have to have an angel hold my arm up", and you know, I didn't have any problem after that. NOW, my back hurts, but the whole day I was able to function pretty normally for all that was demanded of me. That's a miracle, because I haven't had that in years, functionality of that calibur. Totally unexpected.

I may be feeling it tomorrow, though. LOL

It was worth it, though. I'll gladly take the pain for being there for my little sister. She needed me, my nephew needed me, my mom needed me, and that's worth all the pain I could be given in a lifetime. I'd gladly do it all over again. I'm going to bed now.

Congratulations!! I know what you mean....I was there for the births of two of my grandsons. It's a wonderful experience and if you are the only family member present, you just HAVE to be there! They need you!

It sounds as though your sister has lots of loving supportive family around, which is great!

Get some good rest! I hope you DON'T feel it tomorrow!
(((hugs)))
