hi all,
I trapped a nerve the other day and was prescribed xanax and tramadol. They're great but i feel like i'm having an out of body experience. I'm still in a little pain but thrilled with the relief.
Obviously, i only want to take them for a few days as i'm also off work for a few days.

Any tips for relieving a trapped nerve in spine i'm actually feeling light headed and sick from typing so don't even want to take next dose.

Should i stretch gently or just keep still for a while, hot bath, or ice....any suggestions welcome.
Thanks boo

Hi Boo...I had a trapped nerve between t3 and t4, I believe.  The pain was akin to labor!  Anyway, the only thing that helped was soaking in a hot bath and I had to hold my arms over my head to get relief, as that seemed to temporarily 'untrap' the nerve.  I'm sorry I can't be of any help to you med-wise, because nothing I look helped.  (several prescriptions for anti inflammatories).

Hi boo, I ended up having back surgery, a lumbar laminectomy on L4, L5 and S1. I did go
through a long period of being on Vicodin and muscle relaxers. My nerve problem was a
result of degenerative disc disease. I also have done physical therapy in the past.

I hope you are able to find some relief. I know that Mobic (Meloxicam) helps with inflamation.
Initially ice is used. Heat always felt better to me. Good luck to you!
