Hi,

I just wanted to say a quick hello.  I am new to the site but not new to Fibromyalgia.  I was "officially"diagnosed in April 06. I can however take a look back to when I was a wee girl and I did have a number of the symptoms even then.  I love this site as I have been reading posts for a while. Now and again I have wanted to comment on a post...now I can.wink

Looking forward to making new friends.

Hi Lorraine!

I'm so glad you've joined in the family and become a full fledged member! ssshhhhh, don't tell anyone but I did the same thing. I read posts for a while before I had the courage to join, now they can't shut me up...lol

I hope you join our daily Koffee Klatches. It's a little time each day when we're not allowed to even say the "P" word (pain)...lol Sometimes we are reflective but most often we just have fun and with a bit of silliness sprinkled in here and there. Hope you enjoy your new family!

Warm Hugs,
Chutzie

Hi, Lorraine, and welcome!  Ahhh...another animal lover!  We have a lot of them on this forum.  I have two cats and one dog and they sure help me a lot.  My dog makes me go for my walks and that helps me with fibro.

I see Robin directed you to the Fibro 101 thread.  You will learn a lot from that and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.  Our members love to help one another and we really do care about each other too!

I'm glad you found us, lurked, and liked what you saw.  Welcome to our fibro family!

Good Morning, Lorraine! So glad you decided to 'jump in'. Many of us lurked for a bit and found that this is a nice place to come and meet w/ friendly folks. Lots of good info and kindness, can't beat that combo.

I was dx shortly before you were, and it was a process. As I read up on the symptoms, I realized I had this since I was a baby. Many of us have lived w/ FMS all our lives. Finally knowing what is going on explains so much of our lives. I was always told that I was 'too sensitive', BIG understatement!!

I think one of the requirements for having Fibro is to be an animal lover, only kidding! Just about everyone here has at least one animal in their life. And we are the better for it. My 'Evil Puppy' turned 13 yrs old on Tuesday and he is just the most darling baby, always w/i 3 ft of me and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Welcome to the family. yeah

God bless.  Alice.

Alice, Krissy, the 16 mo old bichon is also evil. Tique, my little shih tzu is an angel baby.

You will love it here Lorraine.

Rascaliggy,

Welcome, welcome.  I too was a lurker for a long time and am so happy I joined the group.  We are a friendly and caring bunch.  Sorry to be the odd man out but I don't have a pet altho I like cats.

Question?  Where did you get your handle--Rascaliggy?  I picked mine, Yo-yo, because that is my life, up and down like a yo-yo.

Have a great  and know that there is always someone here to talk to.

Thank you all for your wonderful welcomes.   I love the term lurker as that is what I was.

I do love all of my furry babeis. They range in age from 4 to 18 and yes they do keep me busy. At times they are the reason I get out of bed. The old guy can make his way down the stairs but not back up so I have to go and get him.

Yo Yo,  the name Rascaliggy came from 2 of my cats..Rascal and Iggy turn

Irish Babe you hit the nail on the  head...If I had a nickel for everytime I heard "you are to sensitive"  while growing up and even up until maybe  a few years ago I would be one rich woman hahahaha. Once dx with Fibro it did give me a sense of relief that my sensitivies were all part of Fibro.

Chutz, I do hope to get to the Koffee Klatches.  Best warn ya I have a wicked sence of humour. Something I think necessary for us Fibromites. When I have THE FOG and cannot get the words out laughing sure is better than crying. Also my hubby is absolutely fantastic and we laugh alot together.

Fibro has brought on a lot of unexpected changes in our lives just this past year. I had to leave my job of 20 years which I adored. Of course doing that has brought on money issues. Hubby has been my rock through all of this.

Now I have this wonderful family here and I already feel blessed to have you all.

Hugs Lorraine
