ugh.  argh.  grrrrr.....

we were supposed to get a 'dusting' this weekend .. ended up with 9 MORE inches.  Now there is no school tomorrow, but I have to work because daycares NEVER close ... and that means we'll have EXTRA kids since schools are closed.  UGH.

it's cold.  i'm sore.  imy anxiety goes through the roof when i have to drive in this weather.  my husband is making me crazy.  he was not enthusiastic when i asked him to give up one day at the gym tomorrow so that he could drive the kids up mom and dad's mountain driveway in the morning.  he said that 'i have 4 wheel drive and should be able to make it".  grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.  i am married to the most self centered, selfish man.  sometimes I can handle it, but sometimes it just makes me ANGRY.

my mother called and offered to keep the kids overnight .. since she'll end up having them tomorrow anyway ... she is such a blessing.  dad was supposed to have an endoscopy tomorrow, but canceled because he has a cold ... so she'll have a sick husband and 3 kids and she never, EVER complains.  I love her so much!

i am supposed to hear tomorrow about that new job that i interviewed for ... the one IN my kids' school system .. which would mean that we would be on the same schedule from now on .. their snow days and holidays would be the same as mine!

I hope I get it ... it would make my whole family life easier!  Not only is it at a great school, it's only 1/2 mile from home, and I would have summers off, and I wouldn't be the lead teacher anymore .. which means no more lesson plans and paperwork!!!!

sorry .. fuss .. fuss .. vent ... but I am about to explode here ...

tomorrow will be better, i know it will.

Boy can I commiserate with this statement. I called in because of snow. I had a foot and a half in the road and it was snowing and
blowing so hard that I couldn't see where the road was supposed to be. I have open cornfields in either direction and there was
no way I was going to ditch my vehicle. I was told that snow was no factor for calling in. Well, DUH, at 4 in the morning the wonderful
DOT guys are all snoozing so the roads aren't done. Like you I work in a nursing home and God forbid I call in. I do it an average
of 3 times a year if I'm lucky. After nearly 11 years here they would realize that I just don't call in because I feel like it. The worst
I got was nearly 3 feet in the road and 4 feet in the driveway so I called in. Are you sure you can't make it in?, they said. Well
if the plow ever comes I'll try. Needless to say it was nearly noon before they ever came down and I get out of work at 2...you do
the math.

Hope your day gets better....thankfully spring is here soon.

Nana, let me just say right now .. THANK YOU for all the HARD work that you do!!! I was a CNA when I was in high school, and it was the most physically demanding, emotionally draining job I ever had. I was shaving men, doing post mortem care, and bathing everyone ... not to mention changing linens, diapers, and serving meals .... I did it all, and it was hard!!!!!! I did it thought because I wanted to make a difference in someone's life .. I wanted to be a bright spot in a dark place .. and I think I did a pretty good job at it. :)

Anyone who works in a nursing home does NOT get enough thanks ... or pay .... no matter where they are. So, for the people who appreciate what you do but don't (or can't) say it ... "Thank you!"

I'll be saying an extra prayer for you tonight that you get that job.  It would be so much better for you.

I wish I could do something about your snow but that's why I moved to Florida!  I'd be furious if my husband wouldn't help me, too.  That is quite maddening.  I'm very glad your Mom helps you the way she does.  She sounds so special but it doesn't surprise me because you are special, too!  You always have such kind posts.

So, here's to a better day tomorrow...lots of sunshine to melt the snow.
