What's your favorite piece of jewelry? This isn't just for women only, but men as well. A ring or a chain is a piece of jewelry. But do you have a favorite piece or style you like to wear or own? Some people collect different kinds of jewelry because they just love having and wearing them. Others don't wear much jewelry besides maybe a ring.

My mother loved rings so when dad wanted to spoil her, which was his favorite thing in the world to do, he would often buy her a ring. So now I have a few of hers and don't wear them as she had very tiny hands and I don't. But I do love having them. As for my type of jewelry, I like pins. When I was working I wore suit jackets or blazers with slacks. I would always have a pin on the lapel of my jacket so over time I built up a collection. Each piece has memories that are attached to it that make it special to me. Other than that I wear my wedding band. Don't do pierced ears of any other body parts...lol. I figure I have enough pokes through the medical visits that who needs more if I don't have to.

What jewelry do you like?

Hi Chutz....it's friday. But that's ok - fibro fog hits us all, even the mods. :) Love ya!

I like rings and bracelets. I'm very allergic to jewelry, except the expensive stuff, so I like the beaded bracelets. I love my wedding ring which is just a plain gold band. I would wear jewelry all the time, if I wasn't so allergic.

My skin is too sensitive for jewelry, so the only pieces I wear are my wedding rings and diamond stud earrings (given to me for my 30th b-day). They are all pretty low key pieces with lots of sentimental value.

Last year for Christmas, my husband got me a pair of diamond earings. I just love them. I wear them all the time and barely notice that they are there, but worry about losing them. They have screw on clasps though so I guess I should not worry.

I make jewelry, though I barely wear it. But I made one nice piece from a piece of jasper that I found. It is red and black striped. I shaped it into a teardrop and made a necklace out of it. It is one of my favorites. I also cut a piece of topaz and made a small necklace out of that. I really like that one too. I was lucky and found a nice setting for it at a bead store. All I had to do was trim a little off to get it to fit. What a find.

I hope that you all are having a pain free day today.

Hugs, Karen

The fog will clear and she will figure out today is Fri sometime today Myjoy. devil

I love rings. Unfortunately, some of my knuckles have become so enlarged from arthritis I can't wear them on the fingers I use to and all rings seem to bug me so don't wear any most of the time, not even my wedding ring. My wedding ring and the last band my dad gave my mother are the two that mean the most to me.

For me it's earrings. I waited until I was in my 30's to get my ears pierced, and ever since I've loved earrings.

I get dermatitis if I wear rings, and can't stand anything around my neck. And if I tried to wear pins, I'd need Chutz to come pin them on me, because I can never get them straight.

And it's okay, Chutzie, I'm retired so every day is Saturday for me.

I had my ears pierced when I was in college, and I loved to get funky earrings. BUT, I haven't been able to wear any earrings for about 30 yrs. My ears swell and burn. I had a special pair of opal earrings that I loved, they just sit in my jewelry box.

I have a special charm bracelet that was given to me by my cooperating teacher/friend yrs ago for graduation. I can't wear it, bracelets irritate my arm.

My mother gave me an old watch that belonged to her aunt, it has to be about 85 - 90 yrs old. Diamonds and sapphires surround it, gorgeous, can't wear it. Watches die on my wrist. I buy a cheapy from WalMart and that works.

I have a pearl necklace that I wear for very special events, but can't keep it on too long. It irritates my skin.

I wear my wedding ring and my watch when I go out, not in the house. For the last 40+ yrs, I have had a problem w/ dermatitis and my hands just slice open and bleed. It doesn't matter how dry I keep my hands, everything bothers them.

I have a few special rings that were passed down in my family, I used to wear them all the time (in my teens), now they sit in that lonely jewelry box. My mother gave me my father's wedding ring a few yrs ago. She thought I could wear it, I would if I could, but my fingers are very thin, not safe to try that. My DD likes a lot of bracelets, no rings or watches or earrings, so I'm not sure who to give them to.

I don't have a lot of expensive jewelry, not really into that, but the pieces I have mean a lot to me, due to who gave them to me. I'm just a sentimental person.

God bless.  Alice.

I love jewelry-any jewelry. Love to make it too, but that is a semi expensive hobby, so I don't get to do that as much as I'd like. One day, maybe.

I love rings... really, I'm a sucker for jewelry in general. My kids groan every time we are at the mall because we walk by the jewelry stores and they KNOW we have to stop and look, even if it is just at the window display cases. Anything that sparkles and shines will get me...

I have many pieces that I don't wear, but can't part with - even earrings that I have lost the match to simply because they have sentimental value. I can remember going through my mother's jewelry box as a little girl and how much fun it was to see all the little treasures and hear her stories behind each piece. The only thing I don't wear often are bracelets, but I still have some. Maybe one day my jewelry box will be a treasure chest for a granddaughter.

My favorites are the diamond earrings that my husband gave me when our youngest son was born, and of course my engagement ring.

I really enjoy rings and necklaces. For a while now, I have been sad because I have been unable to wear my engagement and wedding rings. I have gained a lot of weight thanks to the depo shot I have been getting for about two years now, so my fingers are too big for my rings now. I hate not being able to wear them. sad

You all gave me an idea that is way different that what this topic started with. What can we do with jewelry we either don't or can't wear but don't want to get rid of. I did a bit of web surfing and found some neat sites. I'll put a couple of links here and if you find some please do the same. It's a shame to have all of those sentimental pieces sitting in the dark somewhere.

I wear 2 necklaces all the time. One is Peanut from the Jeff Dunham show which was a birthday gift from my son and his family....I
sooooo love Peanut. The other is a silver medalion with a hawk on one side and the Celtic "R" on the other. I've been wearing this
for 6 years now. I had one exactly like it before and it is buried with my grandaughter.

I am a jewelry lover and my dh almost always buys me a piece of jewelry for special occaions.  Back a few years ago I used to wear a ring on every finger, but since I'm getting older and like Marlee, my arthritis shows in my fingers.  I just wear a solitaire on my left hand and a three stone ring on my right hand.
I guess my very favorite piece is a wide wedding band that belonged to my grandmother.  Although I hardly ever wear it I take it out and look at it often.  It reminds me of my childhood and the precious memories that come with it.

God Bless!
