This time of year can be difficult if you live in the 'upper' half of the planet. Let's see, if you life below the equator you are burning your britches in some areas...lol You may be harvesting produce from you garden, going swimming and putting on the sun screen. But up north we're freezing our kazoos off... shocked (can I say that on the forum?) tongue

Many are being blanketed or buried by snow, others are beginning to build an Ark and a few are just getting by with gray and sometimes rainy weather. SO....we need to find some weekend FUN! What things can we do, either alone or with our family, to have fun on a cold and/or dreary Saturday? Take into account that some are snowed in and that all of us would like to have this not cost anything. All ideas are needed!

I'm a bit weird in that when the weather gets yucky and hubby is home and in a generous mood to help me with project, I like to clean and rearrange the house. OK, this isn't a lot of fun for most people but we each have our own idea of fun. I've been staring at the pictures in the living room, the ones on the walls, and I think it's time to play 'Picture Shuffle'. idea That's why I need hubby to give me some help. Not that I can't hang a picture but to hold them here and there so I can see if I like them in their new location. Plus I love his company. Also I love to fix us a yummy lunch when we're working on Saturday projects.

Now it's your turn! I KNOW you can come up with something way more fun for a wintery Saturday than I did. Go for it!

I'm making a to do list. I probably won't do too many or any, but I'm enjoying making the list and emptying my brain. (The little that's there). I'm toying with the idea of putting together and good deals newletter for friends and relatives. Many days I only feel good enough to watch TV and use the computer, so I thought I'd collect good deals and compile them with postive affirmations etc. So I'm toying with that. Well gotta go! Have the best day ever!

I cook. Today after I get home from the fitness center, I'll be making meat loaf and au gratin potatoes. Then I may make a pot of soup. It occupies me today and I enjoy it, plus I won't need to do much cooking during the week.

I also like to sit at my breakfast room table with a nice cup of (sugar-free, of course) hot chocolate and watch the birds at the feeders.

Sounds like great days to me, gals! I love to feed our birds. I lost track of how many feeders I have hanging off the eves of the deck. But as the days begin to lengthen just a bit I'm seeing more and more song birds around them. Mostly this time of year are juncos and towhees. I'll take them all. But the best time is early to mid April when the hummingbirds begin to arrive.

New Day...you sound like quite a resource for information! Your friends and family are lucky folks to have your newsletters!

Personally, I like to play board games. When you are snowed in, it is fun to play a game like Monopoly. Sometimes that game can go on and on and on...One time, my hubby and I played one game that lasted the entire weekend. It was a lot of fun. I mean, we took breaks here and there to do other things, but we played that one game of Monopoly through the whole weekend. If I want to relax, I like to curl up with a good book.

My hubby and I play cards alot in the winter. That is until I get tired of losing, he has an awesome memory and can keep track of the cards and me, my memory is well you know kinda nonexistant most days. That and I get grumpy easier nowadays. I threw the whole deck of cards at his head one day playing crazy eights because he played every 2 and the queen of spades on me one after another. Good thing he has a sense of humour...he even picked them all up LOL. Other than that we rent movies sometimes...not alot to do when you don't want to go out in the cold.

I kicked my kids outside for some quiet time and then took my Daughter14 shopping.  It was fun.

Went to the mall and almost finished next years X-mas shopping. Got some bargains at Wal-Mart for the stockings and Easter
baskets. Got myself a Wall-E piggy bank for my bathroom and coffee cups from the Disney Store. Hit AC Moore and got
Disney boxes on super sale to use for easter baskets and some flowers to make a birthday arrangement for my grandaughters
grave. Was gonna see Avatar for a 4th time but was too late for the showing but will definately make it next week. LOVED that
movie.

This is the third Saturday out of five that we have gotten up to snow and I am getting so tired of it.
We were scheduled to get out of school the second week in May.  Now we have so many make-up days that I don't know when we will get out.
Last January we were hit with the big ice storm and ended up going three Saturdays to keep from having to go in June.
I am a little depressed but I did get my house cleaning and laundry finished today and then I took a long relaxing bath, gave myself a french manicure and then sit back in front of the fireplace and first watched KY play basketball than read a little on a book, which made me sleepy so I even took a nap.

This is the first Saturday I have enjoyed in many weeks.

Hope everyone else had a great Saturday!

God Bless!
