I feel like I have tried a lot of medicines and supplements for Fibro. I was curious what others have found the most useful.

Thanks! I always learn a lot from this site!

Hi Hope,

My current meds are:
Oxycontin, slow release - 20mg twice a day (usually 5am and 5pm)
Oxycontin, slow release - 10mg at bedtime
Cymbalta, 60mg twice a day (same time as above)
Tramacet 37.5mg, as needed (generally two tablets every 4 hours)

The above meds have brought my pain to a manageable level - generally a steady 4 on the pain scale. I had also been prescribed Nortriptyline as needed for bedtime but I haven't been finding it to help ever, so I've stopped taking it. I also take Vit. D and a multi every day

Hope that helps you a bit.

Hi Hope,

I take norco for pain. Two caplets three times a day. Unless I am not in a lot of pain, then I take less. But generally I am in pain. I also take adderall for fatigue. It really does help me a lot. And I take soma for muscle relaxing. I also take antidepressants for the depression that I go through with having fibromyalgia.

Norco is like vicodin, only stronger. There is also lortab but it has much more tylenol in it. And that isn't good for the liver, so I go with the norco.

I hope that this helps you some.

Hugs, Karen

I also take malic acid/magnesium supplements, vitaminD3 and a multivite.

Thank you all for your replies.

Donna - Yes, I take Savella, but I have not found much relief with it. My dr. said that it takes a while for the med to give someone relief. I have been on it a couple of months.

Hope

I have tried so many diffrent things, I dont get any pain relif i have nerve pain. However i do seem to have all the neg side affects from everything i take.
I am starting Vit B 12 injections to see if they help. When I am in tons of pain I get in hot water and soak its the only thing I have found that helps even just a little bit.
Had my 1st B 12 injection yesterday and i have not noticed any changes as of yet other then I am more tired and slept for 18+ hrs.

MY doctor put me on Amitriptyline 25mg and Tramadol for pain a month ago after diagnosing me with fibro. It has done NOTHING for me, things have gotten worse. My left knee is so stifff I can barely walk and my pain feels like deep bone pain, it is horrible and I feel 96 instead of 26. I made an app with a rheumy but they cant see me untril April 26 and is the only one within a 2 hour drive that takes my insurance. I see my GP again Monday and I pray to God she will change my meds and find some kind of relief. I cant live like this. In the past year I have gone from working 5 days a week to barely one day a week. My ANA test is positive and I like my GP but she has so many patients, I dont feel like she even knows my case very well.
I hope you all will continue to find what works for you and share with those of us still trying to find relief.
