Oh Marlee, thank you for thinking of me. I do appreciate it. It is such a mixed bag at present. The dr for my mother is now saying she doesn't belong on hospice. That is good news in itself, but she is not 'doing' better. She had come home from the hosp, but the c diff came back w/ a vengeance. Back to the ER and admitted to hosp. She can't stand up on her own, can't push herself up in the bed, has no strength really. She also has severe Colitis, really can't hold any solid foods. The dr wants to release her to rehab, but she would never be able to do PT. She needs to be on heavy duty antibiotic for 6 wks, Medicare will pay for it in the rehab, but not if she is released to the house. In rehab, they insist you go to PT.

I have been fighting Medicare & SS, to get info. Two yrs ago I filed the papers I was told to send them, now in the past few wks I have had several ppl give me several versions of what needs to be filed. I have been on the phone for hrs and to the offices and I am wiped out. I have to get a lawyer to fight this, I am at my breaking point.

Then re my DH, between his co and the co that provides the disability ins, they have 'lost' or 'forgotten' to submit papers so he can get paid. I have been on the phone w/ drs, hosp, ins co and I am about to run away screaming. My DH is preparing to go back to the hosp on St. Patrick's Day to attempt this again.

Tomorrow is my older son's 30th b/d, we were planning on having a joint party at the house for him and my DM, she just turned 91 a wk ago. But w/ her in ICU, there are restrictions as to how many can visit, so change of plans again.

I'm so tired, so sore and I feel like such a wuss. With what my DH and DM are going thru, I have no place complaining. They are counting on me, I need to get thru this and give them the best I can give them.

I thank you for your concern, it helps me gather strength. I do hope things are going well for you, you are often in my thoughts, also. Sleep well, dear friend.

God bless. Alice.

Hi Alice, I've been thinking about you also. When I got back from Wisconsin I caught up
on the posts and read about your Mom. I'm so sorry. It sure is hard when our loved ones
are ill. Keeping you and your family in my prayers.

Why on this earth would you feel like a wuss??? Dealing with the docs and ins cos would be enough to wear out a trained athlete and than the mental stress of dealing with your mother and what your DH is going to be going through in a couple of weeks. Alice you are one heck of a strong woman. I need a nap after reading about what all you are doing.

I'm sorry your DM is back in the hos. I'm sure it breaks your heart every time you have to take her back. We will continue praying for you and your family.

I also pray you get all the messes straightened out with the different things your dealing with. Your DM and DH are lucky they have you to be their advocate.

Hang in there and take a few minutes a day for yourself.

luv and hugs
Marlee

Hi Robin, thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. I have been thinking of you and your parents. I'm so glad you got to spend time w/ them, just sorry for all the sadness w/ your DF's health. You and your family will continue to be in my prayers. Take good care of yourself, you are very dear to all of us.

Marlee, thank you for your kind words. It is hard to see my DM go back into the hosp, she looks so frail and scared. She feels she is draining her family, I hate for her to be so sad. We are trying to do the best for her. She is going back into the rehab, as they won't pay for med at home. We have spoken w/ SW re the fact she can't sit up on her own, not leave the bed on her own. She isn't able to take care of her personal needs, and does not have control of bladder or bowels. They know the system is messed up, but this is where things stand at this time. We just have to try to keep her spirits up as best we can. Hopefully, that will help to keep our spirits up, too. I thank you for all your prayers.

Just knowing ppl are in your corner and praying for you is such a boon. I am so eternally grateful that I found this 'home away from home', you are such a wonderful family. I thank God for you all each day.

God bless. Alice.
