Hi, Ksenia, and welcome!  I'm so glad you found us and joined in.  I see Marlee has directed you to the Fibro 101 thread.  Check it out because you will learn a lot there.

Many members have developed fibromyalgia from having an illness and mono sure could do that.  I hope you have a good doctor that is working with you.  Once you find what helps you control your pain and fatigue, you will have a full and enjoyable life ahead.  I know I have.

Be sure to keep moving, though.  If you sit or lay too much, you will be stiff as a board.  There are some good stretching exercises on Fibro 101 that really do help.  Also, find a gentle exercise that you can do.  I walk and swim as my exercises and I feel much better and have more energy with I do these.

Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you.  I'm happy you joined our fibro family and I hope to hear more from  you soon.

Yeah i have read Fibro 101 it was very helpful, thank you ! I had to fight to get my diagnosis figured out , it is hard to do in a military, a lot of docs gave up on me, told me everything was fine. But after i lost 40 pound in less than a year without trying and been loosing consciousness couple times, after i felt of the tile in the bathroom and hit my head on it, after multiple visits to the ER doctors started to think finally. It has been tough.
I work in physical therapy so i know stretches and simple exercises, i walk a lot and then have knee and back pain haha. I was so proud of myself this weekend- I went to San Francisco and actually walked alot, under Golden Gate bridge and up and down the hill. I wasn't able to do that in sooo long. I paid the price later that day tho, my back and legs were killing me that night. I just have to push myself from time to time. I really would like to start swimming and do yoga soon, i am waiting untill i have more good days because right now its very opposite.

Thank you for welcoming me! Im glad to be the part of the fibro family!:-)
Stay strong everybody!

I'm glad you are keeping active.  I know how much I can do before my body reacts negatively.  I try not to overdo but sometimes that isn't possible.  And sometimes I choose to overdo and know I'll pay a price but it's worth it.  Most of the time, though, I pace myself and the exercise is wonderful and doesn't cause me more pain....instead it causes me less pain.

Hi and welcome to the family!

I'm sorry you are so young while having to deal with fibro. My hopes and beliefs are that medical researchers will find the cause of this darn disorder and then can get some good treatments. As young as you are I'm convinced it will happen in your lifetime.

Come join in our daily Koffee Klatch and our Chat Night on Thursdays. It's fun to get to know the others who are here.

Hugs,
Chutz
