Good evening all,
I haven't been around in awhile I have been busy with work and school, sick and I guess lost. My endo was really bad for months and it seems to be ok here these past two months. Back in December My body pain starting getting bad again and feeling like crap was still there. I had an appointment with the Rheumy in January to refill my script
s and check in but about
a week before hand my hands swelled up really bad.... again. (this is what started all of my problems to begin with). This doctor and NP have not seen this as of course it never happens around the time that I have an appointment. So I called to get an earlier appt and they set me up with the NP, which is who I usually see. She couldn't believe my hands which at that point had been swollen for over a week and were starting to cool down. She had the Doc come in and take a look and they started throwing around scarry drugs and disease (yet another time in my life). I asked if this could be caused by FMS, and they both said no it would not cause swelling. So they sent me for blood work and an MRI of my hands. I had the excrutiating MRI done and the blood work and headed back to the Rhuemy the next week. I was very worked up about
it all and could decide what I was more scared of something very serious being wrong wiht me or my tests coming back fine again. I know that sounds horrible, I don't want anything to be wrong with me but it would be nice to just know i am not crazy and my body is obviously telling me there is something wrong. And of course you can guess they came back with nothing, and I continued to feel like a crazy person. She filled my script
, finally gave me percription strength ibprofen (as i have been asking for it for over a year) told me to come back in a few months and sent me on my way. The kicker was she said "oh and we didn't see any swelling right?" which really caught me off guard as they were the ones freaking out about
my hands being swollen. So my body pain hasn't been bad just achy and my hands still continue to be the main problem. I am just so sick and tired of feeling like crap and being tired all of the dang time. I have successfully ruined the last three weekends, I keep getting really hot and start sweating and feel like I am going to be sick and of course I am achy and just generally do not feel well. But there is nothing wrong with me. It is fustrating butyou can see why I have been distant. Sorry this is so long I didn't intend it to be I just kept going. I hope you are all well and I going to get caught up on some posts. Thanks
Pain is temporary. It might last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year but eventually it subsides and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.

Sorry you're having such a rough time. I don't know if this will help you with your quest but I found a site that helps you investigate your own symptoms along with hand swelling. Don't want to send you on a wild goose chase but maybe you can find something here that will strike a chord with your doc. IF YOU FIND SOMETHING THAT FITS THE BILL JUST DON'T MENTION TO THE DOC THAT YOU FOUND THE INFO ONLINE! Many doctors resent patients who do their own outside research. So what that it's your body and your pain!!! They have an ego to protect! ... Sorry about
the rampage.. anyway here's the link.

One thing that has helped me in the past is documenting symptoms with photos. I have
multiple illnesses and sometimes rashes or swelling will disapear before I'm able to get
in to see my rheumy.
It must be frustrating for you to know that you have symptoms that are not being
considered. Making a diagnosis comes from labwork and clinical observation. Keep a journal
of symptoms and photos. It does help. Good luck to you Starynight. I hope you get
some answers from your rheumy and great treatment!

I have been away for a while my self for much the same reasons (except for school and indo).
I did a quick search of the four drugs you mentioned in your signature, all of them can cause edema/swelling.
You might talk to your Pharmacist as well as searching for the information on your own. The Pharmacist should have better knowledge or how medicines combine to enhance/cause side effects.
Hoping you find humor in the Symptom/Test/No Result rigamarole we all seem to go through from time to time.
