Question.....Has anyone here tried accupuncture?  I'm asking because one of our vendors came into the office today and was telling me how he has severe Fibro and goes for accupuncture and it really does wonders for him......I've always thought it's probably a bunch of hooey.....Just wondering.

I did have years ago. Did it help? I really wasn't helped by it. You have to hold very still while the needles are in you. That stressed me out, so probably was counterproductive. I was helped a lot by chiropractic adjustments and muscle work or massage. That was just my experience. I have friends (without fibro) who swear by it's benefits.

I'm having accupuncture as part of my physio therapy. They are only focusing on my right arm and shoulder but I find it does help. I don't know how well it would work for your entire body and since my pain migrates from place to place it would be a different treatment every time I went if I tried it for my fibro. It can't hurt to try it I guess you will know in just a couple of treatments if it's going to help at all.

I tried accupuncture and had treatments three times a week for six months and it did not help my fibro but it did help my hearing.

I go to acupuncture 2 times a week. It def does help with pain, but it works best if you have some spots that are more troublesome then others. For me it is my back and one of my legs, so that is where she concentrates. I have found it to help alot, and if I have to go without a treatment for a while, I can def tell the difference. It also helped my TMJ immensely. If you tell them where it hurts, I can almost guarantee you that they have a spot for that. Even with symptoms like lack of energy, or nausea. I highly recommend at least trying it out!
