Hello ....
Thought I would share my story....
It started with a cough 7 months ago....   Now it has evolved to upper chest pain 24 hours a day.  I've seen 8 doctors - had various diagnosis (bronchitis, acid reflux, allergy, asthma, costocondrotis) and now my rheumatologist is 70% sure that it is Fibromyalgia.  So he gave me 60mg samples of Cymbalta.  After taking 1 pill at noon, I was literally tripping.  2 hours after taking it, my pupils were enlarged (a known side effect).  But I also was anxious, couldn't focus or concentrate.  I did not sleep at all even though I was in bed at 9pm.  I called the doctor the next morning and told me to immediately stop taking it.  It was not until the following morning, that I was back to normal except for a migraine headache.  He also told me he doesn't know what else to prescribe because all these pills affect the brain....  I was not on any other medication that could have counteracted with Cymbalta, but I never want to see that medication again.
Has anyone had any success with natural/homeopathic medications?
Thank you in advance

JC:  I had pretty much the same reaction to Cymbalta.  I was so paranoid I wouldn't even go out on my own porch. I really don't like taking any new drugs because no one knows these reactions, or they're not telling us.  My Doc said that she had never heard of that happening to anyone.  I'm so glad, well not really glad for you, to hear that someone else went through the same thing so I don't think that I'm crazy.  I hope your post helps others.  Had I read it before I tried Cymbalta (a couple of yrs ago now) I probably wouldn't have tried it.  Like you, I took it for one day only.  I'm sorry you had to go through that because I know how scary that is.

Hi JC, I lasted three days on Cymbalta and called it quits. Nausea and dizziness were
my symptoms. I am now taking Savella(SNRI) without any bad side effects. Started
taking it last July and it has helped some. I take cyclobenzaprine for flares.

There are members here that have had some success going natural/homepathic,
hopefully they see this post. You can also put in a search at the top right side of pg.1.
Hoping you find something that works for you.

Hi JC,
I tried the Cymbalta thing and made it to day 4 and chucked it. I hurt worse than I did before taking it. I finally gave up on 99% of
dr drugs and have gone herbal. The only thing I take once in a while is a Darvacet. These are what I take:
Super Cissus RX-to rebuild muscle and tendons and ligament damage
Bio-Sil - to rebuild cartalidge damage
Malic Acid- to detox
Bromelain - for inflamation
True Calm - for muscle spasms
A combo of Vit D, calcium, magnesium and other ingredients for nerves

With all of these it makes the fibro more manageable and helps with my arthritis. I'm having issues with my right knee now as
the baker's cyst is swelling and pushing on the sciatic, so between that and I have a lypoma tumor in the leg, too and God only
knows how big it is as they bury themselves, pushing on stuff so driving my 5 speed is getting hard. I was on dr stuff for
30 years and finally got so tired of the drugs and side effects. When you take double of triple doses and it didn't touch the pain
I finally gave up on it. I lucked out and got a really neat guy at the herbal shop I go to and it was a saving grace as for over
a year I didn't even go to the drs except for a sinus infection with these. Good luck and if you need anything contact me.
