Hi everyone; I am new to this forum. Have had CFS and then Fibro since mid-90's.
Anyone here that is on LTD with their employer? I am finding it more and more difficult to make it through the day at work and are having way too many sick days. My boss is a good friend and makes it possible for me to do this and work from home as I need to, but this can't last forever. I don't want to bring up LTD to HR right now, but I forsee it coming in my future.
Our company offers STD and then we pay for the LTD through payroll deduction.
Was just curious for those here that have done this; what can I expect. Thanks so much!!

Being it is the weekend, the forum is rather slow. You will most likely get some responses during the week. I am sure that there are people here who have dealt with disability from the job. So I hope that you are a patient person and check back during the week.

I have had unemployment issues and workmancomp issues, but never disability issues. I had to sue one job from having trouble with my skin at work. That was a trip.

I hope that you are having a good evening. take care

Hugs, Karen

Hi, and welcome to the forum!  Ooohhh, we have a lot of dog lovers on this forum...me included!  I'm sure you will feel right at home.

I can't help you with the LTD through an employer.  I'm on social security disability but I'm sure others will be along and can help you out.

You mentioned that you spent the day in bed.  Well, that's about the worst thing you can do with fibro!  You get stiff as a board and your pain increases.  It is important to keep moving with fibro and incorporate some gentle stretches and gentle exercises in during the day.  I walk and swim for my exercises and I feel so much better after doing that.  Give it a try.  I think that could help you.  Pacing yourself helps a lot, too.

I'm so glad you found us and joined in.  We have wonderful members that do love to help and we really do care about each other.  Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you.  I hope to hear more from you soon.

Thank you for the welcome!

I was only in bed because the fatigue gets so bad.  I can normally push through the pain, but the fatigue is another story.  I feel much better today....of course, it's Monday and it's back to work day!  I take D-Ribose to try and help with the fatigue.  It works most days but there are some where I can barely make it to the back door to the let pups out to potty.  I'm luck to have such sweet pups to be so patient with me some days!

Hope everyone here has a great day!
