Pain woke me from sleep...

Hi all! I hope you had a Happy Easter. I am very happy to see spring in central New York!
It seems I overdid things...again. I didn't sleep well Friday or Saturday night, and spent most of the weekend running around getting things done, and cooking. Knew I was tiring myself out and pushing it, but it's a holiday. :) Last night I must have fallen into a very deep sleep and not moved much, because I woke up at 2am frozen in place with pain EVERYWHERE. Any muscle I tried to move protested. Wow. I have never experienced that before. It took a little bit of time, some tears and a gentle stretch or two before I could settle back in to sleep. Today I am still pretty tight, so I'm back on the ibuprofen to see if that helps. 
Does anyone else experience this kind of thing? What kind of precautions should I take (besides doing less.  lol) so that it doesn't happen again?  Thanks in advance!

Hi. I'm sorry you are hurting, sounds like a flare from... you named it...overdoing. At some
point I think we all overdo and end up flaring. Sometimes flares can come out of nowhere
even when you haven't over done. I tend to work in short spurts now, 15 minutes of work
and take a 15 minute break. There are times I get carried away escpecially if I'm working
doing yard work. I wish there was an answer out side of trying to pace yourself.

Don't forget that heat is a fibromites friend. A long soak in the tub might feel good. Hope you
feel better soon.

It does sound like you over did it. I know that we all do that, but we have to learn to pace ourselves. Even when we are feeling good.

I too agree that a nice long soak in the tub might be in order. Gentle stretching is another good thing. I use the bed buddy a lot. I think that the moist heat really helps. So I would recommend that to you also.

There isn't much more than trying not to over do things. I know that it is hard, especially on a holiday weekend. Try to think of all the good things that you enjoyed. I hope that you feel better soon.

Hi...I live in central NY too and yes, what a relief to see flowers instead of snow!  I also had a bad night...woke up all night long with hip/leg pain and kept swithching positions.  From the bed, to the chair to the couch.  It seems we pay a price for overdoing but I do it anyway because I refuse to submit to this disease, especially on holiday's.  Flares come and go but friends and family are here forever!  Heat and a hot bath.  Hope you feel better.

Gentle stretching before bed time (just the lightest of stretches, not like you do warming up for aerobics LOL, but like you do when you have a nice yawn and stretch), and go to bed with heat. I usually move back and forth, rocking myself while I drift off to sleep. The motion tends to make me 'fall into place'

I think it was the wind storm that blew through. I know I had problems that night, too. That front sure was a wierd one. Hope you're
feeling better. I live in CNY too.
