Everything has been stressing me out so much recently that it is making me physically ill. I was in the ER last night because I vomited a little bit of blood. They couldn't find anything wrong in my blood work. So I looked it up last night, and I found out that anxiety can cause everything I have been going through. I am going to go to the doctor today. I hope he can give me something that isn't a benzodiazepine because I don't want to go back on those. But I clearly need something to help with the anxiety. I need a vacation too. sad

I'm sorry SassyMyKitty for all the stuff your going thru, I know going to the ER is never fun, and it can be scary when you don't know for sure what is going on. I hope the doctor can help you out. Take care of yourself,

I know you have a lot of stress right now, which can, of course, cause some heavy duty anxiety. When I've struggled with anxiety in the past, progressive relaxation was really helpful for me (I used a cd). Also, I used benzos for a short time, just to get through the worst of it.

Austen, the problem is that last year, I went through a terrible Xanax withdrawal. I can't go back on bezos, even for a short period. I am sure there are other anxiety meds out there. I have a lot of my plate right now, and the most recent events are like the straws that broke the camel's back.

Oh Sassy, I didn't know. I have dealt with anxiety off and on all of my adult life. It seems to come and go in spells. I have managed to get through it at times without meds too. I've used relaxation, meditation, journaling, exercise, prayer, and REBT (rational emotive behavioral therapy), which is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy.

There are some good books out there on REBT. I'm not a therapist, and I can't recommend anything for anyone else, but it did help me.

I'm sure there are also new drugs out there that aren't benzos that may be helpful. I'm glad you are going to the doc soon.

Hang in there.
