hi

long story short.  Have got GERD is under control with losec...developed pelvic floor dysfuntion (muscles in pelvic floor in spasm)  mostly under control now with relaxation exercises thou still causes bladder urgency at times.  also developed TMJ which is helped heaps with splint therapy..all these over the last 3 years or so

However now i have developed muslce pain all over, feels like i have been at the gym and overworked muscles...also have burning sensations in mulscles and skin, fatigue (which i have had for years), never sleep.... i think i have some trigger points as well.
i feel relatively ok (as in muscle pain not there) for few days and then it flares for few days and then the pattern just keeps repeating....I have also had a weak positive ANA antinuclear antibodies test which i aske for as i am doing IVF and heard that rasied ANA can cause misccarrage etc...............havnt gone to a doctor as yet to check all my symptoms out..i have read that actaully quite a few fibro people have raised ANA but are negative to autoammune conditions

im sure i dont have lupus tho as i dont have fevers, any rashes, joint pain (mine is muscular) or senstivity to light etc etc

I think i have developed fibro because my body finally hit a brick wall with all my other conditions
thoughts pretty pleaseidea

Hi Beemer

This sounds very similar to me. I havent been diagnosed with Fibro but I have the same muscle pains and burning that you have described. Similarly to you, it goes away for a while but always comes back. I get burning spots on my arms, legs and chest... everywhere really. I also get muscle twitching.. do you ever experience twitching? Hopefully we'll get some answers! Take care

Gosh, it sounds all too familiar, the pain part I mean. The part about feeling like you've been at the gym (with none of the benefits!!) I'd get to a good doctor if you can find one because if it's Fibro, the sooner you get a handle on it, the better.....well, whatever it is, actually. And it's true, Fibro can often be "born"(?) because of stress and other physical conditions. I think I had a mild case that I didn't really pay attention to all my life, and with each of my 3 pregnancies/births, it grew...and grew...good luck.

Hi, Beemer, and welcome!  I'm glad you found us and joined in.  Yes, this could possibly be fibro but you need to see your doctor, tell them what you told us, and have them run a battery of test to rule out other illnesses.

ANA testing isn't always accurate.  You can test "positive" several times and then be a negative.  All an ANA test shows is that your body is making antibodies to fight an infection.  Here is a link from the Mayo Clinic about this.

I do hope you get to the bottom of this.  You want to rule out Lyme disease, too.  Check out the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum.  There are links to good info about fibromyalgia, including a link called What Else Could It Be.  It's an eye-opener!

I'm glad you joined us.  Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you.  Let us know what you find out because we really do care about you.  Hope to hear more from you soon.

Hi Beemer,

Welcome to HealilngWell! I am so glad that you have joined us. It does sound like you very well could have fibromyalgia. Most of my pain is in my neck and shoulders and I experience a lot of fatigue.

I hope that you take Sherrine's advice and check out the fibro101 thread. There is so much information on there. I think that you will find it very interesting.

Keep us posted as to how you are doing. Do find a good doctor that believes in fibro. And make sure that you do tell them everything that you told us. Maybe even make s list of things that you would like to discuss. We always forget something.

Take care, have a great day!

Hugs, Karen

I haven't heard of anyone having problems getting pregnant with fibro so that's good news!

My doctor has trouble believing in fibro.. It seems hard to find one in my practice that does! When I talk to him about the muscle pain and burning he just said that there are many reasons for it and I may never find out why i'm experiencing it! very frustrating.. he isnt the one in pain every single day!

I'm going to a more supportive doctor next week and hopefully they will be more helpful. I'm getting a blood test done tomorrow called a CK test. I'm not really sure what this is but I think it's to find out if there's a problem with my muscles.

Good luck to all of you out there with this!

Twitcher,
I hope the new doc you see is better than the one you have now. devil  I wandered in the land of sceptical know-it-alls for a few years myself!  Then 18 years ago, I found one who diagnosed me (I'd never even heard of Fibro.)  Now he's my GP, although his specialty is allergies.  He doesn't give me false hope or baby me, and he always pushes me to be as active as possible.  But never once has he not BELIEVED me.  In fact, several times over the years he's told me,"Studies show that people with Fibromyalgia rate their pain level as higher than those with Rheumatoid Arthritis.  So we need to take you people seriously."  He admits when he doesn't know something, and tries to find out as much as he can.  He's also fairly cautious about prescribing drugs, but not to the point of fanaticism.  Knowing that there was a (sort of!) logical explanation for all my symptoms, and that I wasn't going to die, and wasn't imagining it all, made a huge improvement in my life. yeah If he ever retires or moves away I'm going to be one lost old lady!

So, I really hope you can persevere and find the care you deserve!!
