Here in Australia we are going into winter and my body hates it. Gone are my pain free days and along comes the not being able to move except with a LOT of PAIN.
Yes we are only weeks away from our first frost, now that is as bad as it is going to get for us. The days will be nice but the nights cold, we do not have central heating in the house as we would only use it at night and early morning. So we just use normal heaters and the wonderful electric blanket, the electric blanket becomes my best friend in winter.
I have let it be known that my name is too be taken off roster from the first of May to September it will be tooooo cold for me to think about going to work. The Air Con would be alright but it is going out off it to help anyone who wants information. That would mean going out into the cold the building we work in is very cold in winter.
My DD did not believe me to she went too work one day last week when it was cool she came home and told me she had put my name down as unable to work until September when it warms up again.
I love summer we get the humidity here that I can cope with, it is the waking up in the middle off the night screaming from the pain in my right leg as I try to move it. Again I hate the cold the pain is driving me nuts after all spring summer and fall pain free this is a bit hard too take. [ Well almost pain free]

I can understand your frustration but you are lucky you have a warm summer down under and have pain free times... Here in ireland it is cold ALL year round which makes the pain very difficult :(

Boy, I couldn't take cold all year. Funny I should come on this post right now - my family just went outside to cook out but I'm in here because it's cold (about 35 degrees), windy and damp. No thanka you!! They just think I'm a wuss. They're right.

Kathy, I feel for you. We are just out of the worst winter we've every had in Iowa. 67 inches of snow. I love summer when it is hot and humid, at least my pain loves it. But now when it gets warm, then cold, then wet and cold is really hard on my body. Diane

Glad I am not the only one that hates winter.  Can't clean the kennels cause everything (and I mean everything) is frozen to the cement.  By the time everything thaws out it is a disgusting mess.  Was supposed to have heated floors but we moved here in Feburary 8 years ago and a terrible snow storm snowed in our trucks so we didn't get the tubing.

The furnace is broke.  furnace guy replaced the burnt out fan but still not enough voltage to ignite.  Out of split firewood for the season so no fire.    It is only 60 degrees and damp.  Just a miserable weekend meanwhile I'm sitting here right now sweating.

Hi Kathy,

It is so strange to hear about winter at this time of the year here. Here it is our spring and the winter just got over with. But I hate winter too. We had a mild one this year. Last year was horrible. There was so much snow. And our summer was cold. But that didn't bother me, I like it cooler. Not cold, but I can't stand the humidity. So when I say cooler, I mean a cooler warm. If that makes any sense.

I hope that you are able to stay warm and comfortable. You should try the 'bed buddy'. It is warm to put around your neck. I put them by my feet in the winter.

Take care,

Have a wonderful (evening here) day,

Hugs, Karen

I glad you started this thread.........this winter I was knocked on my behind, 3 months of being tired, sleeping, achy and IBS. Hmmm, making a connection...now why can't the doctors do that, lol.

Hope you start feeling better, it's spring here and enjoying the weather hmmm that is unless a storm moves in.
