Ok, recently, I was in the ER a lot. I kept having severe abdominal pain and I was vomiting all the time and I had lots of diarrhea. At first, they couldn't find anything wrong. But then the last time I went, they were doing an MRI on my gallbladder and they saw that my right kidney was inflamed. So, they put me on Cipro, and I started doing better. Today is my last day on the antibiotic. But I still have the diarrhea, and every now and then I will puke and then feel fine. I am worried I might be pregnant, even though the home tests have come up negative. So I have an appointment with my gynecologist for Wednesday. If I am not pregnant, I think it is very likely that it is my gallbladder. The MRI came back fine for that, but it won't show if there are lots of little stones in it, so I need to have my doctor do an ultrasound. I just want to know what the heck is going on with me. It's bad enough dealing with this fibro, but then you add all of this, and it just sucks. I still have a lot of abdominal cramping, but it is not so severe that I need to go back to the ER. But I really just want to know what is going on with me. I feel like I am going crazy because tests keep coming back ok, but I don't feel ok. I feel like something is really wrong, but it's not like anyone will believe me without evidence. I am praying that anyone can find out what is wrong with me.
Sorry I am ranting, but I am just so frustrated and a little scared. I knew that I could come on here and vent. I could use some advice and encouragement, and also some prayers. Thanks everyone. I am so thankful to have my fibro family.

Is the MRI all they did? Did they do a fecal test?

This could very well be IBS. Irritable bowel syndrome, which does go along with the fibromyalgia. That might be why everything is comeing back negative. But I would find out for sure. It is very irritating, you never know what is going to happen where your bowels are concerned. I hope that you find out what it is.

Best wishes,

Hugs, Karen

Hello there!

Im sorry you are having all these nasty stuff. I had a very similar situation for almost 2 yrs docs couldnt figure it out. I had multiple visits to the ER as well. You might consider seeing GI doc. I had colonoscopy done, they said i have IBS. Well i knew that already. Then i had to ask them to get upper GI checked out. They found i have an ulcer. Talk to your doc, google some info on ulcers, compare your symptoms. Consider request for colonoscopy and upper gastroscopy done.

Get well soon sweetie :-)

Oh and i forgot another thing, if you are taking any pain killers NSAIDs like motrin, stay off them for a while untill you get things figured out.

When my gallbladder decided to go on the blink, there were no really obvious symptoms (outwardly, at least) though I had pain. The ultrasound didn't show anything, either, but then they did a HIDA scan and found that it wasn't functioning at all, plus there were stones. So out it went. My general digestion is better now, not perfect - I still have IBS - but everything's relative!

Sure hope they figure out what's going on in your case.

Hi, sorry you are going thru just about what I went thru with the throwing up, diahrrea, ER visits and all.  I was diagnosed with reoccuring gastritis by endoscope.  prescription prilosec does help and is cheaper than OTC.  It has been a year since that diagnosis and I still have the vomiting about every three months.  2 or so months ago I was in the ER for blood instead of the usual diahrrea, I even forget what that ER doc said but he was wrong.  Had to get a colonoscopy, they found nothing but hemroids LOL.  So after all that I got the diagnosis of gastritis and IBS.  Hope they can give you some answers.

I already know that I have IBS. I have had it for a long time, so I know how it functions on me. If that makes sense. LOL. I am going to see my gynecologist Wednesday to rule out pregnancy. I like to cover all my bases. I haven't thrown up in a few days, but that is the way it was before too. I would go a few days and then I would vomit. And then after that I would feel fine. I just want to know what is going on with me. I have been under an extreme amount of stress recently. I know that sometimes stress can exacerbate IBS, so I suppose that could be what is going on, but I just feel like it is something more. I have lived in my body for 22 years now, and I know how it functions, and I know when something is off. I just don't know what it is. Thank you all so much for your support and advice and encouragement. It means so much to me.
