I am tired of all the medication. confused confused confused
How much do I take? When is enough enough?  Do you ever say no?
I have my heart meds:  Coreg, spironolactone, lisinopril and warfarin.
Now I have Cymbalta, gabapentin, xanax for depression and fibro.
Tetracycline for rosecea and creams for this rash and that rash.
Omeprazole for acid relux.
8 hour Tylenol 3 times a day and allergy pills.
 I take a multivitamin and Omega-3.
Now they want to increase my gabapentin and add provigil.
Will it help?  How do I know?
My doctor thinks it's all OK, but how do I know.  When do I say, "No".
Do I add magnesium and Vitamin D3?
The doctor wasn't sure the insurance would cover a Vit. D level test.
I just feel overwhelmed right now.  Another symptom?
Thanks for listening and your help.  Stephanie

I say no to medication I don't want to take.  My doctor has tried to get me to take Lyrica and Savella and I won't do it.  I have the pain under control using other methods like exercise and some supplements. etc.  Maybe I would feel better if I took these but I'm not willing to put up with side affects.  They can be worse.
I have to take medication for my diabetes and osteoporosis and glaucoma.  That's a given.  But, I can find ways of dealing with fibro without adding more meds to the mix.
Stephanie, I use malic acid/magnesium supplements and vitamin D3 and they really help me with the pain.  I exercise, do stretches, and keep busy.  This all has helped me.  Your insurance should cover the vitamin D test.  I have had that frequently because my levels were so low...still aren't totally normal and I'm taking 4,500 IU a day!  But, the more D I take, with my doctor's blessings, the better I seem to be doing.

It is so hard to know. Wish I could give you an answer, but we're all different. You just have to decide, in some cases, which is the lesser of evils ... I wish I could get by with nothing, be 100% natural & safe, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards, at least not right now. I do keep it in mind, however, as an eventual goal.
