Hello Fibro league!

I was wondering if I was one of few or one of many that can't put up their feet on a coffee table (if your household is that relaxed) or cushioned foot stool and cross their legs at the ankles without pain after walking to the kitchen?  It feels like my ankle is out of place and I have to hobble first before the ankle goes "back" and that pain is gone.  Plus doe anyone feel like their body is getting sapped of life and fluids and you can feel everything and it feels a hundred years older than your real age?  My sternum cracks a fair amount along with everything else and I just feel drained all the time.

Do you mean your ankles hurt when you stand up after having them on the coffee table? This happens to me - mine feel like they have locked in place and I have to shuffle because they don't bend! We recently got a sectional so I put my feet on the sofa now and it isn't quite as bad when I get up.

I always wondered if this was fibro or did I have arthritis in my ankles.

Love your occupations!! LOL

I have put my feet up on an ottoman and lived to regret it. There is no support for my knees and I have arthritis in all my joints, so when I take my feet down the pain is so there. I also have a problem w/ my ankles swelling. I have to massage them every night.

I usually put my feet up on the couch in the evening. The even support is so much easier on my body. I have a hard time sitting in a chair w/o crossing my legs. I fidget terribly, due to problems w/ my back and legs. I know crossing my legs isn't good for me, but the pain from sitting straight is horrible.

I get very tired and achy, I usually try to lay flat on the couch w/ the heating pad under my back. I will stay there for maybe 20 - 30 min depending on how miserable I feel, then I will ride my bike for about 10 - 15 min. IF our weather ever calms down I will do a walk outside instead of the bike. I can't take the wind in my face, so for now I ride the bike.

Hope you feel better.

God bless.  Alice.

Yeah they hurt after I get up from lounging in the livingroom. I can't not have my legs up otherwise the rest of me hurts. I have a feeling it's just the position because it's not just when I have my feet up on a hard surfaces it's also with soft surfaces.

I prefer to pull the coffee table or footstool close and rest my lower calf on it. I know I look so goofy with half my leg propped up on the table, but I really think the wider surface area disperses the pressure better.

I think you should buy a recliner :)

I would pull the coffee table closer, but me and my husband have a different definition of "foot stool" comfort.  We're not that different in height, but he likes to be a lot farther away from the foot rest or table then I and same in the car.  I have to be closer, but there I think its about the fibro.  Ahhh such as life.
