Hi, I'm back home from my lap band surgery. Everything went pretty well. I'm guessing it's too soon to know about getting a flair. Hospital doc gave me percoset and it seems to be working. I don't know if it will touch my fibro pain. Probably the worst is yet to come--two weeks on a liquid diet, then two more weeks on a pureed food diet. Yum. Well, I just wanted to let you know that everything went great. Thanks for the prayers and thoughts. Diane

I'm glad to hear you are home and resting.  I was on a liquid diet for five weeks leading up to ostomy surgery.  After a few days,  you really don't have much of an appetite.  I lived on popsicles so you had this done at a good time of  year!  You might not have a flare, either.  I never did and many others on the forum who have had surgery have done nicely, too.  So, try not to put that in your mind.  Concentrate more on healing and feeling better.  Let us know how you are doing, okay?

Glad everything seems to be going well after your surgery. I'd suggest Ensure, the milk chocolate ones taste better to me than the vanilla or strawberry flavored ones. Boost also seems to be a good choice. Honestly, these drinks are very good and packed full of all the stuff you need when you eat a meal plus they're filling when its hard to get back to eating a normal meal. Good luck sweetie, take care, and hope you're on the mend perfectly.

I'm glad everything went well Diane. When you see those pounds melting away it will be easier for you to stay on the diet. I now have to give up my beloved Diet Pepsi and chocolate due to gastritis and I don't know how I am going to live without my Pepsi but I have to and we can do whatever it takes to make us feel better, we do that everyday with fibro so we are already experts at it. Hang in there it will get easier.

luv and hugs
