What a beautiful day it is today!
Have any of you had a MRT Food Sensitivity Test? It is a blood test which tells you what Food and Chemicals YOUR body is sensitive to. There is a Food Sensitivity Nutritionist located where I live, in Columbus Ohio that conducts these tests and outlines a food plan based on your individual results. It is called the LEAP ImmunoCalm Dietary Management Program. I had this done in February and can honestly say I have had a significant improvement in my Fibro symptoms (body aches, pains, headaches etc)  since I have eliminated the foods and chemicals that my body is sensitive to. You don't have to live in Ohio to have this done. She can Test you and devise your personal LEAP program no matter where you live.

I waited to post on here because I wanted to make sure that I could honestly tell the difference in my Fibro symptoms..... And I can Honestly say that I feel so much better ever since I began my personal LEAP elimination plan. I want to stress that this isn't an elimination plan based on the generalized foods that are known to trigger fibro pain but it is an elimination plan that is based on the results of what YOUR body is sensitive to.It isn't something that works overnight. It takes time and dedication but it has worked for me and I wanted to let everyone know how much better I feel.

I'm not sure if I can list her information on the Forum but if anyone wants it, please feel free to e-mail me at  and I can give it to you. Also if you have any questions I can answer them here or by e-mail.

Blessings,
Shari

Shari, I'm so glad you are feeling better.  We never know what will help us and I'm glad you are getting relief.

I took your email address out of your post.  Anyone in the world can see it and spell out trouble for you.  Put it in your profile and only members can go in  your profile and get it to contact you, okay?  It's far safer.

Shari,
I've looked into this testing and although it appears to be a valuable tool in predicting food sensitivities and allergies I don't see how this has helped your fibro. Is it just that you have less IBS or some other "side dx" of fibro or do you actually have less muscle pain? Can you do things like weed the garden and not suffer from it the next day? And finally, I have no insurance. Do you know how much this blood test costs? Thanks in advance for your info.

Hi Jeannie,
Sorry for the late response but to be honest with you I have been too busy enjoying life and am hardly on the computer at all. cool     Not sure if I can explain it well enough but the jist of food sensitivity is that when one eats something that their body is sensitive to, the body will react in one way or another. It isn't just limited to the digestive system and IBS. The food that we eat is distributed all over our bodies once it is digested, including our muscles. In my case my fibro was causing alot of muscle and joint pain. Once I eliminated the food and chemicals that my body was sensitive to, I no longer had pain in my muscles and joints. I was sensitive to many of the foods that I ate on a regular basis so it took a while for my body to eliminate them all from my muscles and such. But it did happen and I have felt so much better ever since. I also feel healthier because as I said before, I only eat natural food that my body doesn't react to and nothing with all those preservatives and such.

I also have Myasthenia Gravis so I have to be careful of doing too much but to answer your question, yes I am able to do things such as pulling weeds and not have fibro pain after doing so.

Now the cost of the test is , if I can remember correctly, around $250.00 but I had put so much money into doctor appointments and medications that I was willing to spend that amount on this just to see if it would help me and it paid off tenfold.

I have stated this before and I will say it again, that I am not claiming this to be a miracle cure for Fibro but it really worked for me and the overall health benefits are a plus as well.  It doesn't hurt to eat healthy and your body will love you for that.

I hope I answered all of your questions. If not, I can give you the website that I went to and it has a little more information. I don't think I am allowed to post it here but I can send it to you in an e-mail if you want.

Blessings,
Shari

Sorry but Im skittish about this whole thing. You sound like a commercial"what a beautiful day! and"sorry it took so long to answer you I been out enjoying life!" you say your not saying this is miracle cure but say that ya you can be out pulling weeds with no fibro pain or you spend that amount on doctors visits anyways so why dont you just put this 250.00 on this instead? I got good info from my nutritionest but I dont claim that I basicaly Im fibro free because if you are than it surely doesnt take all the pain from me eating only good foods but then I didnt spend 250.00 dollars for your test your claiming you feel so wonderfully about. Your being careful in the way you word things but I would be willing to bet somewhere there is a fee you recieve to get ppl to buy into this. I know this is a forum that we as members get to give opinions and mine is I dont buy it.....sorry

You have a right to your opinion Karen and I respect that. I can only let others know how changing my entire lifestyle has benefited me tremendously in hopes that they too can have the much needed relief that we all deserve. It took me a long time to get to this point and I wanted to share with others how happy I am. I knew that there would be some people who would feel the way you do. I have not claimed total healing and have never said that I don't have any pain anymore. I just said how much better my pain is and that I notice the difference when I eat something that my body is sensitive to.

I will still tell others how much better I feel no matter what people think. I know that I am telling the honest to God truth on how I started feeling better and if it can help only one other person then it will be worth the skepticism of many.  I do not get paid for anything whatsoever and would never do anything like that to people who have chronic illnesses because I am one of them.

I hope that you find relief in some way or another but as I said before, it's okay that you don't believe what I say. Everyone has a right to their own opinion and I respect that.

Blessings,
Shari
