The hubby and I met another couple for dinner last night at a Chinese/Japanese Buffet.  I had only met this couple a few times...as a matter of fact I barely knew the wife at all.  The restaurant seating area is like three lanes of tables separated by half walls.  I filled up my plate, didn't pay attention, walked down the wrong section, sat down with two strangers...started to eat! (the hubby was still at the buffet or I THINK I would have recognized him...LOL!).  These people didn't say anything.  The wife of the couple we were with noticed me there through the half wall and called my name.  There I was with with crab leg meat hanging out of my mouth...OMG.

I just told the strangers I was sorry and got up.  The three of them laughed at me all night.  I didn't even have the nerve to blame it on fibro fog because I don't think The Fog has anything to do with it except maybe we forget faces.  I hope so.  These things bother me more than the pain sometimes, as I start to question my sanity! confused

Oh well...could have been worse, I guess.  I could have started eating off one of the strangers plate like I do the with the hubby! (only if he has something I missed!)

You are so funny, Donna!  You just weren't concentrating.  You didn't look at the people.  You were concentrating on eating.  You had just picked the food out, it looked yummy and you started eating.  It's not like you were eating and carrying on a conversation with these guys!  THAT I would worry about!

Don't worry about that.  Just make sure, if it happens again, to keep the crab meat in your mouth!  devil

I wouldn't worry about it either, Donna - I mean, sure it's embarassing, but....I sure hope I CAN blame stuff like this on Fibrofog, or I'm in big trouble!!

Oh Donna, thanks so much for the laugh, I sure needed that!

I went out with my hubby last night to a restaurant we haven't been to before and upon leaving, I asked where the ladie's room was and I was given directions and so I began my journey to the loo, only to end up walking out the front door! My ever compassionate husband (yeah, right) yelled my name and said "where are you going??? Don't you listen? It's over there!"...had I had something in my hand, I think I would have thrown it at him. 20+ years with FM, 30 years with him and he still doesn't get it...oh well...

in any case, thank you for the laugh...I am still smiling :)

Thanks for the laugh Donna. We were at a family gathering one time and we all walked out together. I opened the door and started to get in a car which I thought was ours. It wasn't. I think everyone thought I had been drinking too much. It makes me feel better knowing other people who have a fog problem too. wink

Maybe all those nice soft, foggy clouds keep us from hurting even worse. Like a kind of cushioning, y'know?....

Thanks for the laugh and thanks for making me feel that I'm not the only one that does crazy things like that.

My DH has finally gotten use to me doing these crazy things, but I just had to tell him about your episode.

God Bless!

Hi Donna...

Your experience was funny to read but I saw a pained heart peeking through somewhere. I do understand what you mean about being bothered by the 'mind' stuff. I try to laugh it off when I ask the same question of my grandson 6 times. But it hurts so deeply. Those times when I'm alone, at night or daytime, times when my thought are left to myself...those are the times it hurts so bad. It's frightening too since there is so little known of fibro. I guess we just have to take each day and enjoy it.

Keep smiling! You work wonders around here with your writings.
