Looking for support as I have NONE at home.  I have fibromyalgia, Autoimmune Hep, Cirrhosis, fibrosis, thyroid disease and a whole host of other things.  Allergic to lots of medications liver will not process and I hate the fact my husband and kids do not care.  I hate being in pain all the time.  I hate staying in bed half the time.  I hate all the blood work and tests, I hate not knowing when things will get worse.  Nothing that I have done for myself
helps..... I need a friend to talk to please help

Welcome ihbs, I am sorry you are dealing with so much pain right now. It makes it so much harder to deal with if you have no support at home. I think you will find the support you need here. Everyone is awesome on this site and have great information and truly care about what you are going through, as we are dealing with it too. I hope you stick around and get some much needed support! Take care and once again welcome to the family!
Gentle Hugs,
Shannon

Yes, people really do respond and there's a lot more out there with similar problems than you'd believe! This is a great supportive forum. And when you post your problems, you help other people, too.

(For instance, what is Autoimmune Hep? Because I've got chronically elevated liver enzymes, and they don't know why. Just wondering.)

I'm sorry your family isn't more understanding. Mine wasn't either, until enough time went by and I still had all the same problems! Well, one of them still doesn't get it, but I have hope that he will someday :)

Do you have a doctor you can communicate with and you can trust?

Hi, ihbs, and welcome!  Yes, we do respond on this forum.  I'm the fourth one to respond in an hour and a half.  That's pretty good, I think.

It is not fun to live with chronic pain and other illnesses.  Many of us have a list of health problems...me included.  But, we work very hard to help one another around here to get in control of our pain and to live a full and enjoyable life in spite of our health.  I know I have.  It took a little time but I did find what helps me.  The problem with fibro is that what helps one doesn't necessarily help another.  So you have to keep trying things to see what works best for you.

I use ibuprofen with food, extra strength Tylenol, malic acid/magnesium supplements, and vitamin D3 to help with pain and fatigue.  I also do gentle stretching and gentle exercises.  Walking and swimming are my forms of gentle exercising.  You do need to keep moving with fibro or you will be stiff as a board!

Be sure to check out Fibro 101...the second thread on the forum.  There are links to lots of good information about fibromyalgia, including links about malic acid/magnesium supplements and vitamin D3 and how these work in our bodies.

I'm so glad you found us and joined in.  I do think you will like it here.  I hope to hear more from  you soon.

Hi ihbs, Welcome to our fibro family, this is a wonderful, caring place where people do really
understand the pain and frustration of having a chronic illness. We know the ups and downs,
the day to day agravations when others just don't get it!

Living with illness is such a learning process. We go through differant stages. I went through
a mourning process, dealing with the loss of my good health. I spent lots of days crying and
angry. It was after I went through the grief and anger that I finally accepted it was what it
was. I got tired of cying and being angry and started looking for ways I could help myself
feel better. I came across this forum and the lupus forum and started reading posts, I was
not a member , just a lurker. Last July I decided to become a member. This forum has helped
me learn I was not alone and that I can live a happy life. You have to believe things will
get better. A positve attitude turned me around. I still have my bad days, but I have learned
that you can still be happy and not pain-free.

Checkout fibro 101, second thread on the top of page one, you will find alot of great info
that was compiled by Sherrine, who is one of our super moderators here.

I am glad you have joined us. Keep posting, we care!

Hugs, Robin

It would be so hard not to have this forum.  It is the first thing I check when I turn on the computer.  We are all here for you.  I do admit that sometime I feel too rotten to respond to a post, but I gain so much strength by reading what others have written. You have joined a wonderful family.

Welcome ihbs.  You have found a great place for understanding and comfort in your time of need.  We all share so much on this forum.  I think the weekend is always a little slower than through the week.

Check back often and become one of our family.

God Bless!

Sorry you feel so bad, I understand. It is very tough living with FM. I hope that you feel welcomed here. I have only been posting this week and have gotten lots of support.
I struggle with FM,Raynauds Syndrome, gastroparesis, IBS and depression. I trust in God with all things. Been a tough journey and it's not getting any easier but thanks to God and my family I am not alone.
