The fibro and other stuff has been bugging me a lot so I took tramadol for breakthrough pain nearly every day.  Today I took percocet.  The doc gave me 5-325 tablets and I rarely take them. My dosage is half a tablet. Today I was in so much pain that I could not think clearly and put a whole tab in my mouth and it was coming to pieces before I realized what I did.  I swallowed it anyway.  It has been about 7 hours and I still feel terrible.  I exchanged pain for horrible dizziness and nausea and weakness.  I would rather have the pain.  Feel awful awful awful. rolleyes

Awww, Sue, I'm so sorry you traded one misery for another. Too much pain medication makes those of us with chronic pain feel horrid! The uneducated think all we do is get a high from it but nothing could be farther from the truth. Sure, there is the tiny minority but for the most part we experience exactly what you did, Sue.

Take some time for your body to recover...sleep! Hopefully you will feel much better tomorrow.

Warm hugs,
Chutz

Hope you are feeling better! I feel the same way if I take a whole hydrocodone or even take my ultracet too soon. My husband can't understand why I don't use the stronger meds more often - he just can't understand that horrible feeling and I never know if it is going to happen!

It lingers a long time. You would think the stuff would be out of my system by now. But I turned around after driving halfway to work and came home. Still nausea and dizziness - that just wants to hang on. I tried to go to work, but it took me awhile to get up and get ready. Should have just stayed home in the first place. Too bad I did not figure it out until after paying bridge toll. I came on here to see if there were any suggestions. Will look for meclizine. I am sorry that others have this same reaction. It is nice to know, though, that I am not alone and am not imagining it! Going back to bed now. The doc certainly does not have to worry about me becoming addicted to percocet.
