So....I'm sure this question has been asked like a million times on this forum, but I just don't have the energy to go searching for it...so here goes nothing.

What supplements do you all take? What ones have you found to be helpful? Which ones haven't been? And most of all, what do you recommend?

I have just started the Magnesium/Malic Acid supplement..too soon to tell a difference. Starting a multivitamin as well. (Which is really nasty by the way.) In the past I have taken D3 and B12, but I'm waiting to get my bloodwork to see if I'm deficient and how much I need. Also take iron and C.

Thanks!
-Sarah

can malic acid be bought in a health food store or is online the only place to get it.  I haven't seen it in any if the pharmacies that I go to and one is a specialty pharm.

I am actually taking a prenatal vitamin (and no I am not preggers) My doc gave it to me to help with RLS. I need to start taking vitamin D, I just don't know how much to start out with. My doctor cannot check my levels as my insurance won't pay for it. I am not having alot of relief from the prenatals for the RLS but I feel a little better and I know my hair and nails are healthier so I will continue to take it.
Gentle Hugs,
Shannon

Malic Acid and magnesium malate did nothing for me. I still take it daily 2.5mg malic acid and quite a bit magnesium and 4000 iu D3 too along with calcium, iron, fish oil, coq10, multi with contrace minerals, and a boatload more. I also take natural thyroid and that seems to have helped the most since getting to a higher dose. I think getting higher on my T3 levels would help even more, but I'm being kept on my current dose by the doctor. My D level was 28 a year and half ago and probably that low for a long time as I was never tested. It's not in the 70's and yet I still have some type of daily pain, but much better I think b/c of thyroid treatment.

Most of us try to eat a healthy diet but some of us, me included, have other illnesses that affect how we absorb nutrients.  Consequently, we have to take added supplements to aid us.
