I am going thru a very bad time now with my hand. I have had this in the past and it went away totally. First I was told it was Carpal Tunnel from the results of my EMG but I went to a hand surgeon and he told me it wasnt. Well it finally disappeared and now it is back. When I get the tingling if I let my hand just dangle for a few second the tingling goes away. My hand has been hurting for a few days now really bad and now it just feels achey. Hard to close it. I just dont know what to do anymore. I know there is something neueological wrong because I am getting nerve pain thru out my body ie: mouth, back, one finger on right hand. Have gone to 5 neurologist and either they tell me we dont deal with pain or they say they dont see anything wrong. I am so frustrated and in quite alot of pain. I take oxycotin and morphine for breakthru.Been on pain meds thoughout my Fibro. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I was told the tingling (mine is more like pins and needles) I get in my fingers/hand is from nerve compression some where in my neck (T3 disc, I think).  Mine also feels better or goes away when I hang my arm down.

I've had that for years.  Trying to write checks could be a project because I could write half of it out and then have to hang my hand down and shake it so I could feel the pen again.  It comes and goes for me.
I also had carpal tunnel.  If this is caused by carpal tunnel, your thumb, index, middle finger and the inside of your ring finger will be affected.   I took NSAID's for that and I rarely have problems now.  I did try the wrist braces but that didn't help.
I hope you start to feel better.  Rest your hands so that the wrist is straight.  The bone in your wrist has a narrow opening that the nerve passes through and when the nerve gets pinched, that's when the numbness and pain happen.  As I said, mine is pretty much gone now and I never had surgery for it.

For Carpal Tunnel try Vit E. I read a drs report on it and he started his patients off on 400 IU and working up to 1600 IU. He
says he only had to operate on a few patients. I think it was in Woman's Day but not sure. I started using it after reading the
article for my wrist pain and every time I get it I use the Vit E treatment and it goes away.
