What is everyone's plans for this holiday and the weekend?

Mine, I am a online gaming host as well. I will be hosting tournaments in memory of my brother and his "Son" (really his K9 partner) (well extendended brother) and in honour of the troops. After losing two family members and 6 friends to this blanketity blank war I realized just how special the troops are. Without them, there would be no free country.

May my boys Rest In Peace.

We have been having a new 3 season porch added onto our house, and the carpenters have finished their part. We are spending the weekend putting down new floor and window coverings, and moving in the furniture from the garage that we have purchased for it.

My Hubby and I are going to stay in our Jammies all day tomorrow and then he has to work Memorial Day. I am missing out on my Moms family reunion :( She is being reunited with her siblings over the weekend and I am very happy for her. I just cant make the 7 hour ride because of the pain. I can barely handle the two hour drive to go to church with my inlaws!

Gosh Smurfy! I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm one who lives in an area surrounded by military bases and I have so much respect for the men and women who protect our nation's freedom. Thank you to your men for what they gave us...our precious freedom.

Achey, I too know about missing parents. My dad's been gone for 8 years! I had to count because it doesn't seem that long ago. He and I were such buddies.

Hubby and I are resting up tomorrow. Thursday/Friday we had young grandson over night. Today we drove puppy to her 'school'. It's over an hour each way but I do pretty well. Hubby has her on the leash in class and is doing wonderfully! And I get some hand sewing done during the drive. But once we get home we're both tired. So, tomorrow it's sleep in until we want to get up which likely means we'll both be awake by 6 AM...lol You all know the deal..on those rare occasions you can sleep in you wake up early and can't get back to sleep!

So what is everyone else doing? Thanks for starting this thread...it's a great one!

I'll be up at 4:30 in the morn and then working all day. I used to wear an Army shirt to honor my Dad who fought in Korea, he
passed away 2 years ago. My Mom went 25 years ago. I lost 2 grandaughters who I visit every Memorial Day and are buried
next to my Mom and Dad. I sure miss them all.

Bit of advice...love them while you can...life is just too short.

I'm sorry, Nana...parents is hard enough, but granddaughters, wow, that's got to be so hard. Life is definitely too short, I agree.
