Guess what?  I found MinnyMouse on the vitamin D thread!  Hee hee.  You will find her post below.

Welcome Minny to the forum!  We have wonderful members who love to help one another and we really do care about each other, too.  I know you will like it here.

Be sure to check out the Fibro 101 thread...the second thread on the forum.  There are links to good information all about fibromyalgia and you will learn a lot there.

Speaking of vitamins.....I take malic acid/magnesium supplements, too, and these have helped me a lot with pain and fatigue.  They don't help everyone but they might be worth a shot.  I get these and my vitamin D at Puritan.com.  I have no affiliation with this site but it's a good company and you can't beat the pricing!  Anyway, there is a link about these and how they work in your body in the Fibro 101 thread so you might want to check that out.  I'm not one to take a lot of vitamins either and I don't take herbs.  Just me.  But I heard about these and tried them and they and the vitamin D really have helped me.

I'm happy that you found us and joined in.  I hope to hear more from you soon.

Wow... I find this information so helpful. I have been sick for many years, dr. to dr., treatment to treatment, surgery to surgery. Last week I found a Rumy that finally did the bloodwork and I mean tons of it. Found out my Vit. D is at 10. He put me on 2000IU Daily and 50,000 weekly. I have never been a believer in vitamines and usually stop taking them after about two days.  You guy's make me WANT to continue taking them to see if this is a big part of the issue. He said it's Fibro and pretty advanced. Thank you for the discussion. I have alot to learn. He also did not rule out Lupus. Right on the edge, one of the three tests were positive. Thanks again.

Thank you everyone. I do appreciate the welcome. Have posted some questions on misc. boards just to have people basicially tell me to shake it off and get myself back to work. "quit trying to scam" My husband was the one that suggested this site and said that I would find people that are going through the same things and might lend some tips. Doc says fibro is not curable and it's just a matter of findig some way to manage it. You tips and threads are helping me to more understand this. I always thought there were clear cut diagnosis for disease or conditions and it would be easy to pin ponit. Seems it's easier to rule out some things than diagnose. My doctor wants me to stop working and he's going to help me with my Long Term Disabiity and filing for SSDI but I guess that's going to be an issue in itself getting approved. I have litteraly 15 years of trying to figure this out. I feel like I'm whinning now so I will stop. Lot's to read to catch up on all the information you guy's have provided.

Thank you again

Hi Minnymouse,

Yes, the doctors have to rule everything else out to get a dx of fibro. It is frustrating, but necessary. I ended up getting a tender point test. Almost jumped off of the table when that was done. Had a few spots that really hurt.

Keep posting and reading. You will find that you have come to a very good place.

Best wishes to you,

Hugs, Karen

Hi Minny Mouse! Welcome to our family, glad you joined us!!!

I'm glad your doctor is being very thorough with testing, It does take awhile to get a dx
but it is worth waiting to get a correct dx so that you can get the treatment you need.

We are always here for eachother because we really do care! Keep posting!!!
