I think most, if not all of us have a sweet tooth now and then. Some more than others obviously. wink As kids we go for anything that tastes sweet or has sugar in it. Then as we mature we often refine our tastes for different kinds of sweets like really GOOD chocolate or other delicacy. But somewhere deep inside is still a love and craving for some of those 'kid' sweets. Is there a 'Kids' treat, snack, cereal or dessert that you still love? Do you hide your passion for this delight? Or do you not allow yourself to indulge in kids things any more?...too sad there!

So, do you still love KoolAid? Maybe Pop Rocks are still a favorite of yours. What about those iced animal cracker/cookies? I haven't had those in decades but I remember loving them! Do you inhale Rice Krispie Squares when no one is looking? Time to confess...what's the Kid treat that you still love??

OK, I'll go first here. I love "Corn Pops" cereal! I can eat it right out of the box, by the handful or in a bowl with icy cold milk. Are you old enough to remember the original name of that cereal??? It was named "Sugar Pops" until the anti-sugar campaign took off and sugar was a taboo. Here's a big of history on their name...

"Originally called Sugar Pops in 1951, it was later changed to Sugar Corn Pops, and then to "Corn Pops", during a time when many cereals dropped the word "Sugar" from their titles. In January 2006, the name of the cereal was changed to Pops, but after a few months of poor reception, was changed back to Corn Pops."

here's some more interesting history on this cereal:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corn_Pops

So, what kid food do you still love??? Had any lately?

Oh Chuzt, of course it is Rice Krispie Treats. That is what I always bring to our parties. It is the absolute sugar high. My mother-in-law used to make these for me at Christmas because I could not have her chocolate chip cookies (allergic). Now my son's girl friend (and I kind of hope future daughter -in-law) makes them for me.

for now it is peanut M & M's.  I usually don't like sweets but when I get on a roll I can gobble my share of a few different things, after all if I don't eat my share hubby will clean out the sweets  smilewinkgrin

As I sit here reading today's Koffee Klatch I am eating Cherry poptarts! I also love corn pops and remember when they were called sugar pops. I was just telling my kids that the other day because I still call them that when I ask which cereal they want. I guess because I still have pretty young kids at home I still eat alot of kids snacks. I wonder when they are all grown what I will still buy for myself...hmmm.

I also remember when Corn Pops were called Sugar Pops. I still like them. My all time favorite "kids" cereal is Froot Loops. Yum! I like to see the different colors of the cereal floating in the milk. I guess that sounds kind of weird. :)

My love was always icecream sandwiches. And I still love them. Good Humor makes giant ones and I can eat two. Confessions of deep dark secrets. lol...

Hope that you all are having a good day today.

As a child, I generally would ask for the latest sugar cereal on the market, my mother would get it for me. I would try one bowl and not really like it. Go figure!

If I have cereal now it is plain, oatmeal, Cream of Wheat or Cherrios, no sugar or milk.

One candy I loved as a girl was Sweet Tarts, especially, orange. My DD likes the same kind of tart candy and will pick up packs of the stuff. She always pulls out the orange ones for me. Just thinking of them now, I'm starting to pucker.

Have a wonderful day.

God bless.  Alice.

Ice cream sandwiches are pretty great. And anything chocolate! But my "kid" craving has got to be for gummybears. I could eat a ton of them, except that they make me have phlegm in my throat (??) and make my teeth feel bad. What a lightweight!

Id have to say my all time favorite treat was my moms fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies. I still make them now and then but they will never be as good as my moms.

The only super sweet thing I actually like is Oreo Double Stuff. I only allow myself 6 at a time and a package will last me a week
or so. My youngest when he was little would stop at the store and buy me an Oreo Big Stuff to bribe me with. He had another time
when he said the Oreo's held him hostage, pinned him to the floor and forced their way down his throat. Such an imagination. smilewinkgrin

I can remember when Corn Pops cereal was called Sugar Pops, also. However, my all-time favorite cereal is Reeses Pieces. My kids and I will eat them straight out of the box. We don't usually keep them in the house, because of the sugar. When we do buy a box, it is usually gone in one day!
