Hi all, I just wanted to let everyone know my youngest child Shyanne had her adnoids and tonsils out today. She is fine (although sore) and we are home resting. Yes I said we, Shy, my Sis (antbuggey) and myself. It was a long day for all of us, starting with an hour drive each way! I felt so bad when she first woke up and was near hysterical, but is doing wonderful now. Hope everyone is having a low pain day!
Gentle Hugs,
Shannon

I'm glad she is back home and recouperating.  That's a relief, isn't it.

Thanks Robin and Sherrine. It is a huge relief, she had such a tough time breathing before. In fact she never even knew until today that she could breathe out of her nose her adnoids were so big! I know she will feel so much better once she is healed. It is still very hard to put your child under the knife! Thanks again for your well wishes. Take care.

My grandson was just talking about how much better it is without the tonsils.  No more snoring, and less sore throats.  Glad she is home resting

Sorry she had to go through that but I am glad it went well. Remember this is the one time she can have plenty of popsicles and ice cream.

I am glad that Shy is home and resting. Yes, ice cream and popsicles. I imagine that it was a little frightening at first, but it sounds like she is okay now. I am glad. Let us know how she is getting along.

Hugs, Karen

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate all of your well wishes! Shy is resting good but throwing up alot. The doc says cut out the codiene and go with straight tylenol until she will eat. What a tough surgery! I am trying to rest too, but the stress is causing me alot of pain in the middle of the night. Arm and leg cramps again! Waiting on my doc to call to see if I can get something for breakthrough pain at night for a few days. Thanks again. Take care.

You may want to try the "recipe" below.  Ask your doctor first but this tastes good and it should be fine for her to take.  This was give to me years ago and it has worked great for vomiting for my family.  It seems to settle the stomach and keeps you from becoming dehydrated.  My adult children still use it!

                 For Nausea and Vomiting

                      1/2 Cup Gingerale

                      1/2 Cup Orange Juice

1 Tablespoon Karo Syrup (Light or Dark)

Mix together and give one tablespoon every ten minutes for six doses (if needed).  Then give every 20 minutes until 2-3 doses are retained and nausea stops.

Thanks Sherrine, I'm going to try it. Ran it by the nurse at the Doctors and they said it sounded like a great idea to try. Sounds like she will like the taste too. I will let you know how it works for her.
