For over a wk now we have been dealing w/ a very serious health issue, actually, the latest one.

My DH has gone to the ER 3x in the past wk, been admitted 2x. We went to the ER due to a kidney stone and things have just mushroomed since then. He has had CA stents for the past few months and as such the dr put him on Plavix. When the stone developed the urologist wanted to 'blast' the stone, but due to Plavix he decided to put in a stent. Since that surgery, my DH has a LOT of blood in his urine.

He has been throwing up and hiccuping so the PCP sent him for more blood work and urine test. The results were not pleasant, so she sent him back to the ER and he was admitted again.

They are talking possible transfusion, if things don't clear up soon. I'm worried about that and the infection and just everything concerning him right now.

I'm trying to keep track of all the information and be calm for him, and yes, he is trying to be calm for me.

If you could keep him in your prayers, I would appreciate it so much.

God bless.  Alice.

Dear Alice,
Please know that your friends here are praying for you.
I have found that in times like this it was very hard to pray,
so I just had to know that my friends and family were praying
and I could rest in that.
So we are all lifting you and your husband up in prayer.
God bless, Stephanie

Alice, you and your husband are in my prayers.  It is frightening when you don't know what or why things are happening.  They will figure it out.  Try not to be nervous about blood transfusions.  They do check out the blood.  I've had four transfusions and haven't had a problem.

Try and rest.  You are doing a good job staying as calm as possible.  Let us know what they find out.

Hi Alice,

I am so sorry that your husband is going through this right now. Continue to be strong. I know that it isn't easy to watch somebody that we care deeply about suffer. I hope that they get to the bottom of this.

Many gentle hugs,

Karen

PS I am keeping you and your husband in my prayers...

Good morning my dear friends. First let me thank you all for your prayers and good wishes, we do appreciate them so much.

The dr found thru hosp blood test the 2nd time he was in that his WBC was extremely high, that concerned her, so she ordered a new set of tests as outpatient. He had those plus several other tests that day (all at different locations) and those results came back that
1. he still had the stone
2. his muscle enzymes were out of whack
3. he has an infection
4. very heavy dark bleeding while urinating
5. vomiting and hiccuping constantly

The dr put him back into the hosp and they started IV and antibiotics, different that the one he had taken home w/ him. He is still in the hosp, but he is doing better. He is able to eat and hold it down, still on the IV and still getting the antibiotic. As of this morning, the urine was 'normal' looking. 3 of the 4 drs have been in to see him, and so far they are quite happy w/ the turn around going on.

They haven't decided yet when he will be coming home, but things are taking a better turn right now, so we are hopeful.

I know he is feeling better. He hasn't watched tv in days, he put it on last night to find they don't have The History Channel in the hosp. How Dare They?!?! Ah, men, gotta love them.

I'm going to pack up my stuff now to go visit him, but I just wanted to stop by and thank you for your kindness to us. I tell my DH how caring the ppl here are, he tells me, 'I'm glad you have 'your ladies'. I'm glad, too! Thank you w/ all my heart.

God bless.  Alice.

Alice, this sounds like he is finally on the road to recovery!  This is wonderful and you just made my day!  I'm thankful that you have doctors that will keep searching until they find the answers and  not ignoring problems.  That is a blessing.

I'd be upset if they didn't have the History Channel too!  That's one of the few things on television that I like.

Take care.  I think you will have a better day today.  I'll still keep praying until he is home and healthy again.

Alice, what is your husband's name? so I can pray directly for him and of course, I will pray and pray hard that this turn for the better continues.

I was in the ER this week with a bad urinary tract infection myself, so I know what he is going through. Two weeks ago, I had my hysterectomy and they put stents in my ureters and I was bleeding after surgery in my urine also. It does get better and I hope he is all better soon also.

God bless you both.

Your prayers and good wishes helped to bring my DH home to me, Thank you so, so much.

We just got back a little while ago, he is now resting and I just put the laundry in the washer. I guess that is a Type A personality Fibromite's idea of resting, laundry. Sad!

The bleeding has stopped, he is on a new antibiotic, and he will be going in on Mon to have the stent removed. So right at this time, all is going according to plan.

Your pep talks really helped me to deal w/ this mess. Your prayers meant so much to both of us, I know God was listening to all of us. I pray that God's grace is w/ all of you. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

God bless.  Alice.

Alice, I'm so glad he's doing better and that you have him home again.

I can remember a couple of years ago when I had a scare that my DH had lung cancer, how all my Fibro family prayed for us.  It meant so much to me then and I know how much it has meant to you now.

I really do believe in prayer because I've seen the results too many times.  God has answered prayers for me over and over and I know he gave you strength through your trial.  I don't know if you've ever heard the poem "It's In The Valleys Where I Grow" but it is a beautiful poem and it's so true.  I'm sure your faith and strength is stronger now and I know he will continue watching over you and your DH.

Keep us informed of how he's doing.  We have all been so concerned.

God Bless!
