Hello,
 
I just bought some malic acid and magnesium as suggested but I don't know if the magnesium is the right stuff? I got magnesium oxide.  They are gel caps 400mg. Is this ok or the wrong stuff. What would be better? Help?

The malic acid that I take are 800mg. I think that is what people usually take, you could double up on it. I believe that it takes 2400 to help you. But you have to go really slow. Hopefully Sherrine will be on and help you with this. She knows a lot more about it than me. I can't even remember what I started it at. I think it was 800mg. Then you slowly work your way up to 2400. Maybe even more than that. But I take three a day. Which is 2400.

I sure hope that it works for you. I noticed the magnesium right away because my muscles felt better. It is good to take calcium with this too.

Let us know how it goes. And like I said, when Sherrine comes on she can probably explain it better than me.

Peggy, I just noticed that you were pretty new to the forum.  We have a thread called fibro101.  There is some information on Malic acid/magnesium on there that you would probably benefit from reading.  Check it out when you get time.

The malic acid is a separate pill form from the magnesium. I take 3 of those but my question is did I buy the right magnesium pills? does it make a difference?

I forgot to say the malic acid is 600mg and I take 3. But what type of magnesium is best to use? Is the magnesium oxide ok or not? I take them separate because I read it is best to take the malic acid spread out over the day and the magnesium about 1 hour before bed.

My magnesium is magnesium oxide. So yes you got the right kind. I see what you are saying now. It makes perfect sense.

Thank You so much for answering me. I feel much better now. I will try to increase the malic acid to 2400 later.  How much of the magnesium do you take? Is 400mg ok? do it cause any kink of problems? Thanks again so much for putting my mind at ease.

I take three of them and they are 100 mg each. It does really make me feel better. But do go slow on the magnesium or it can give you diahrea. No fun at all.
