So I felt bad for everyone, I hope Chutz doesnt mind. I may not be regular, but I will try to be. And I will only do this til Chutz resumes this (who will do it a lot better than me for sure lol)
Whilst growing up, did your parent or parents do anything or say something just to get you to smile or laugh? What was it?
In my case, I'd always get mad when I couldnt go swimming. At a family reunion I was pouting on the swings because mom said I couldn't go swimming. My dad walked by saw me pouting and said "Your face is going to freeze and a bird will come along and doodoo on you." I heard that phrase a lot, and usually I laughed and smiled. But this time I didn't. Dad walked off, mom came and said the same thing. Well she walked off then I started screaming "MOM mommy mommy help me." She and my dad rushed over to see what the problem was. Well, I looked at them and I go "A bird doodoo'd on me see mommy get off get it off" Kid you not, a bird right after my parents said that, flew by while dropping and it landed all over my leg. You just never know, your parents may actually be telling the truth even if it sounds corny LOL! Who would of figured a bird doing exactly what my parents said... Now, I find the much humor to it!

My Mom didn't have to do anything intentionally to make any of us kids laugh.
We laughed at her all the time. She was and still is hillarious. Kids that lived in
the neighborhood thought Mom was funny. She is overly expressive with her eyes
and gestures and when she tells a joke...she always blows the punch line.
If I'm ever feeling down all I need is to pick up the phone and talk to Mom. I
don't think she realizes just how funny she is. I love her!

I know what you mean, Robin. Growing up, my older brother, Charley, who lived away from us, was hysterical. Whenever my mom was in a bad mood, we would pick up the phone and call long distance, my brother and he would get her laughing. He still does that to me now, long distance of course.

When I was growing up, my dad and I had a special relationship. He would always make me smile whenever I was down. There isn't one special thing that I remember him saying, but he would always find a way. I love my dad so much. He is gone now 40 years. I miss him.

God bless to all of you and thanks for this Koffee Klatch, Smurfy Shadow. I'm glad you posted.
