I have started new meds for about 3 weeks now (cymbalta) and I regularly have goosebumps while I talk and having trouble regualting my body temp.  HAs anyone heard of these side effects?   I also have ringing in my ears but I know that is a side effect for sure.  Just dont understand this goosebumps thing.....any ideas?

I probably am not the one to answer on cymbalta. It was a horrible drug for me. The withdrawals were terrible. My depression got very bad while I was on it. Never had the goosebumps though. :) Wish I could help you with that one. Anyway, everyone is different - so I hope this drug works out for you. Let us know how it goes.

Hi Tracy,

I think I have the opposite of you...I have horrid sweats since starting the Cymbalta - I've been on it for several months now. I'm finding myself in the position of deciding if the side effects are worth the pain relief I get. I've tried Lyrica with nasty side effects, and I don't know if Savella is available in Canada yet. The Cymbalta works well for me in managing my Fibro pain, along with the Cesamet my doctor prescribed as a "helper" to the Cymbalta.

I don't ever get goosebumps, but I am hot all the time and the sweats are really hard to manage (I'm on meds to lessen the effects, but it doesn't help a lot). I tend to wear garments made from Bamboo when I sleep, and I use a cold pack on my stomach and under my neck. I hope that you're able to find something that helps you with the goosebumps.

Conditions: Fibromyalgia, Severe Myofascial Pain, Chronic Pelvic Pain (with permanent muscle damage), Femoroacetabular Impingement (CAM and Pincer), Reynauds, IBS, Surgical Adhesions, Ophthalmic Migraines, Severe Hot Flashes (both Surgical Menopause and medication related), plus physically unable to vomit due to the Nissen, and I have extremely tiny veins with a lot of scar tissue...a joy when it comes to having to give blood or get an IV started

Surgeries: Appendix, Uterus, Nissen Fundoplication for GERD, Left Ovary, Gallbladder, Right Ovary, TVT

Medications: Oxycontin, Cesamet, Tramacet, Cymbalta, Flexeril and Clonidine plus Laxaday, Vitamin D and a Multi-Vitamin daily
