My job endS June 30, but I have a lot of vacation, so Friday was my last day.  I am taking about a month off before starting back at the same place with a new job title.  Then I will be a grad student and researcher again!  It has been my dream for many years to get a PhD and I can do so much more with that degree in my field than I can with a MA or a BA, so I  am very very excited.  In addition, I have really wanted to work with this particular person for a very long time, and now I am.  But once the PhD program starts, I will be running hard for at least 5 years straight, so the time off will be very important.  The first two days I have rested and took it easy and did not do a ton of work.  The plan is to rest my body, continue exercising, and get stronger.  The commute to my job is over an hour each way, so not driving every day will be a big help.

I will also probably do some canning, a couple of fibro classes, work on getting published, and dig in my yard.  I am very excited about this time off.  I think co workers may not understand why I need it, but it is a must with fibro - to get stronger and prepared for the road ahead.

Have a great vacation.  I'm very happy about your new position, too!  This is wonderful.
