I have a condition called gastroparesis, delayed emptying of food in the stomach. Since diagnosed with costo. I have also had nausea. I am wondering if the pain in my ribs and chest could be coming from my stomach. Not sure. If I didn't have this stomach problem I don't think I would be concerned as much. With gastropareis food can sit in your stomach for hours and even cause a ball of food to form which could block the stomach. I am gonna go see the GI dr. to see what he thinks about the pain and nausea. I couldn't get into see him til the end of the month, oh well.

Sheila, I'm almost positive I have gastroparesis, too. I eat just a couple of bites and feel full. Great as that sounds to most people, it's not, is it?? Because nothing moves! Have you actually had this diagnosed, and what are you supposed to do about it?

Ironically, my husband, who has GERD pretty bad, had the test where you eat the radioactive oatmeal and his stomach empties just fine.

I am going tomorrow to have an upper GI.  I have been having some major digestion issues.  I have a hiatel hernia and that is what they are gonna look at tomorrow to see if anything has changed with it.  My doc also mentioned that I could have gastroparesis.  I too eat just a bite or too and am full.  I also have costochondritis and have been even having additional pain in the left ribs, I too am wodering if it has anything to do with my gi symptoms.  Very strange, isn't it?  I will be praying for you cause I understand what you're going through.

I had a test done about 2 years ago. I had to eat a piece of toast and egg with radioactive stuff on it. After an hour they would do a scan, then again and again for a few hours. Test showed food stayed in my stomach. I have had some trouble with it over the years but not to the degree that some have. The only reason I have thought about it now is the nausea. I still think the pain is costochondritis but thought I would go see the gi dr anyway.

Thanks for all the prayers.
