Thanks for understanding and offering support! you have no idea how much that has helped today!!!

My sister sms'd me and she has told my mother that my daughter and I could come help while she is away, so my mother said she would send money for me to come. that is just impossible right now. My husband is having so much trouble with the fibro pain and what ever else is wrong with him (we are fighting the VA because we think he has Gulf War Syndroome...........since he came back from a special duty before he retired, my symptoms mirror his only not quite as fast as his and all 3 of our grown kids have auto immune troubles that were not there before he had gone away in 96)

Our mother has dementia and she does not do well with change. Her dr said if we put her in a nursing home, she will probably not last long. She refuses to go there. we do pay for a sitter during the day time, but it takes nearly all of her SS money to pay for that.

Since we are living on my husbands SS and military retirement, we can not afford to pay for it.

I woke up to that sms and I replied that it was just not a good time with my husband being so sick. She has not replied. Last night he could not even get out of the chair because he was so weak.

Sorry you and the family are struggling so much. I know how hard this is, I have fibro, my oldest has fibro. and my youngest is special needs with numerous medical conditions. It is tough.

I hope the VA helps your husband soon. While you take care of everyone be sure and find some time for you.

Thanks! I am standing by my hubby. I did pull the 20 yrs with him. I did not go out to see with him or to the Nato forces, but I did stay home and raise the kids and move each time our port changed.

My sister called me after I told her there was just no way I can leave now because my husband needs me to help him in and out of the bath right now and he is unstable on his feet.

She said the dr. told her that these little TIAs are just going to be the norm for our mom from now on. As much as I hate it, I can not run home each time Momma has a problem. I can be there for hospital stays or to help in recover from surgery, but I can not be in the day to day care because I have almost the same type of situation here in my own home. no more mention of me gettint home to visit (care for) momma next week. Call your local service for Elders and Disabled. There are programs where you can get respite that gives you a break from your loved one, and they can work from your home.
