Hey Fibro family.  Anyone ever get stiff hands?  Mine are really stiff this morning.  My legs get this way from time to time too.  I am wondering since I've had fibro so long and am getting older if my symptoms are changing.  Anyone have any thoughts?  Hope all is well with everyone.

Libby, I think stiffness is a common feature of fibro. It is one of those traits
shared with many disorders. Heat and gentle stretching helps.

I definitely have stiff hands in the morning. I too think it is a fibro thing. Hope you feel better soon.

I have days my fingers are stiff and don't work right and my upper thigh muscles get stiff which makes walking a funny site.

I do keep moving though because I noticed when I sit, it's worse, it seems if I work it out I feel better. I do also know that those days are gonna be alittle tougher.

Stiff hand in the morning for me is very common, I would love to blame my spelling issues on that- hard to type you know, LOL but I think that problem has nothing to do with fibro or my hands... I tend to sleep with my hands in fists, this started about a yea ago, and unless I wear wrist braces that keep my hands open, I wake every morning with my hands closed and fists clinched. Very stiff and very hard to open and get moving. I hate the braces so thus far I'm just dealing with it.

Hope you get to doing better,

I think it is especially common for it to hit in the mornings. Mine haven't been terrible, but once in a while, like Minny, it is like I've been making fists all night and when I do that they're stiffer. Sounds like fibro. If you were really concerned you could ask your doc to just take a look to be safe. No swelling, heat, or redness, right?

I am forever noticing that my left hand is in a loose fist. I'm right-handed, so you'd think it would be the right (like from typing too much) but no. ???

shakehead  Mine are so stiff when I wake, when I sleep, eat, work, all the time. Stiff and very painfull. I have been getting shooting pains down my pointer and middle fingers on both  of my hands. I say to people that all day long it feels as though the skin on my hands have been stretched tight, been hit with a hammer and stabbed with knives. Oh what fun huh? I get it in my feet and knees all the time too. Mine doesn't go away when i rest or move, it's constant. Oh the fun of our Fibro pal. It's like the stray puppy you accidentally fed and then it never went away. shocked
