Well, I finally had to get off of the Savella because it started making me vomit. I have no clue why this happened when I was doing so good on it. Now, my muscles are slowly starting to hurt really bad again and I've been sleeping all day again. I've never slept this much in my life. I am really frustrated with all of this. I am thinking about trying cymbalta but my Rheumatologist wants to see me first. I am just too tired to go in. I slept all day yesterday, stayed up about three hours after I ate, then layed right back down and slept all night AND all day today and I'm still tired right now as I type this. I didn't get out of bed until 9pm and I had to force myself. Plus, I feel like I may have ulcers again. That may be why I was vomitting, but I'm not sure. I just feel yucky all over. Been running fever again and feeling like I have the flu(I guess from RA). I guess I need advice because I've never been in a situation where I couldn't figure it out on my own. I feel like I'm up against a brick wall and i'm so tired of it.

Hi Cajun, I think you really need to get to a doctor as fast as possible. With the vomiting and the fever it has me really concerned. Please call someone and have them take you in. You are probably getting dehydrated. Please keep us updated.
Gentle Hugs

I agree with Shirley. If you wake up long enough to read this - please go to the doctor - and don't leave until the help you. Prayers Stephanie

Cajun, from what I understand, Savella will work for a while and then stop working and that possibly could be what happened.  Not fair, huh.

Have you had blood work done lately?  You could be low on iron and also potassium.  I have Crohn's disease and I was so low in iron and potassium that I was hospitalized for it.  I do take iron daily because I don't absorb things normally.

But, I do suggest, like the other members, to get to the doctor and be really checked out.  You shouldn't be THAT fatigued.  Let us know what happens.

I wonder if the fatigue is coming from going off of the Savella.  Maybe a withdrawal symptom.  How long have you been off of it.

I was in bed for two years with this fibromyalgia.  I finally went on adderall to keep me awake.  Just a thought.

I hope that you feel better soon.

Keep posting and know that we all care about you.

Thanks everyone. I am feeling a bit better today. I don't think I am dehydrated because I've been drinking plenty. I've been hospitalized for being dehydrated before and know how it feels. I don't want to go that route again. I was only vomitting when I took the Savella. Now that I'm off of it, I'm not nauseated anymore.

Karen- I thought about that because I went through a weird low depression too. That may be what it's from. I weaned down to one a day and have been off of it for two weeks, but I've had withdrawals from weaning off of medication before. My body is really weird, so I wouldn't doubt that that's what it was two weeks later.

I am going to try to push myself to go in and see my rheumy and ask about taking something to keep me up. I am tired all of the time even when I've slept all night. The only thing that helps a little is the steroids that I am on. They give me a tiny bit of energy. Not much though.

Have any of you heard of Provigil? It's a medicine given for narcolepsy but sometimes prescribed to people that have severe fatigue.

Karen- With the Adderall...do you crash when it wears off? My daughter takes it and I remember her saying she didn't feel too good when it wore off.

Hey Cajun Girl,

Hugs to you, first let me say that I am very sorry that you are going thru this right now. You were not alone with the all weekend sleep!!! I did just about the same thing.
I hope when you go see your rheumy they are able to get you something else or a different regimine to keep the pain at bay. I was watching on and off about your journey with Savella, my doctor had given me samples, that I gave right back and never used, I was very leary of it, causing high blook pressure etc. But I was hopefull after hearing you talk about it. I'm similar in the Lyme with Fibro too.

My appt with my rheumy, is unfortunatly 3 weeks away, so I am seeing my regular doctor on Tues for bloodwork. I wish I could say more, bur right now, I'm just sad to hear that your going thru this right now. Hugs, and more hugs cause that pain is creaping right back in with me too, I take, Neurotin (300 milg X1 at night) Oxy 15 2X's a day and tramadol 50 milg as needed during the day (which is usually 3 in the morning  and 2 in the afternoon) Percocet for break-thru pain (which is a ton right now) and
Provigil which I take m-f for work. I wonder if me not taking it this weekend caused me to sleep all weekend??? Not sure but I do no Provigil works and keept me able to work during the day.

hopegirl,

Thank you for caring:) I'm glad you posted about provigil because I am really interested in trying it. I will wait to see what the Cymbalta does first though(I just posted a new update). I am hoping it doesn't make me even more sleepy. I guess I can't have everything though.
