It's FRIDAY!!! I love it because my hubby and best friend will be home! No, it's only one person, not two...lol tongue smilewinkgrin Since it's summer in the northern climes, let's plan a weekend party! How about a BBQ? If you were going to have a BBQ that's casual and invite your best friends, all fibro's of course cause we're only the best!... what would your party be like?

This is a no kid party and only fibro friends are coming. It's not that we dislike kids, spouses and S/O's but we need some time for ourselves. My party would be held at the beach! Did I surprise anyone? Want to join me? I'll set up a BBQ and use some mesquite wood for flavoring the meat we're cooking. I'll also bring my very old ice cream freezer so we can have homemade stuff...the best kind! I'll fix a vanilla base and everyone can bring whatever add-ins they like. As far as cranking it by hand, ummmm...I'm guessing we can find some kind soul who can give it a whirl for us in trade for licking the dashers. wink

OH, anyone for a seafood appetizer? I'll pick up some fresh Dungeness crab and cook them right on the beach. I love to get a large pot of salted water going and add to it a bottle or two of a good dark beer. Once it's boiling I drop in the crab, wait about 12 minutes and out come the most delicious and tender seafood you've ever had. Quickly and carefully clean them off with running water and eat them while still warm...with lots of clarified butter. (OK, I'm beginning to drooooolll)

I'm going to BBQ some steelhead trout. What would you like to have on the barbie? Beverages are of your choosing, I'm having ice tea. Some fresh bi-color corn on the cob dripping in butter would be all I'd need with the fish and a huge beefsteak tomato sliced, topped with sea salt and freshly ground pepper.

Time for me to stop and for you to jump in with your party ideas...let's get this thing rolling!

Your BBQ sounds fine with me. I don't think I can top that. I love the beach too! Oh....I do think we will need some beach chairs as the sand is a little tough for us fibro folks to get up from.

My topping for the ice cream will be Kuhlua (sp). I love it drizzled over vanilla ice cream. I'm allergic to sea food but I love any other kind of appetizer. Why don't I bring some of those little smoky sausages simmered in b.b.q. sauce.

This is going to be fun. I can't wait. Oh, I'll have to bring my little special pillow to sit on. I know the beach chairs will be too hard for me to sit on without it.
