Hello good friends:

Well, it's taken me a few days to get to writing to all of you since my last chemo infusion on this last Tuesday. Today is Saturday and I am still hurting in my legs, feet, hands and other places too.  It's mostly alleviated by the percocet, so I'm not complaining too much.

I had some nausea and sharp pains in my abdomen this time, but those things happen.  I didn't vomit and was always able to eat, so that was good.  Food and especially water and other drinks don't taste right, but I drink anyway, cause I know it is good for my system.

Ordered some more caps for my head this week.  They should be here on Monday.  I am looking forward to them.  They are sleep caps and fit a bit better than the scarves.  But I still love my beautiful scarves that my daughters bought for me.

I still sleep alot after the chemo.  I have to take a nap every day, but that's ok.  It doesn't interrupt my schedule. lol!  I dream a lot and last night I was in an argument with a bunch of nuns in the church.  Hahahaha  Don't know what that was all about!  Usually I have disney dreams.  They say it's from all the steroids I take before and during the chemo. lol.  But I do get the sleep in, so that is good, even if it is technocolor or black and white as it was with the nuns!!!

I went to my weight watchers meeting place this morning. I wasn't up to staying for the meeting, just wanted to buy some chocolates from w.w. and see the leaders.  I haven't been there since May and they were all so happy to see me.  I weighed in and found that I had gained 7 pounds.  The steroids are helping me gain the weight, but I am being more aware of the junk I have been eating too, so I hope to lose just a few.  I am anemic, so I have to be careful, but I have to eat right too.  Just indulging too much, but that's kinda understandable.

I am very happy to hear from you all when you write in to me.   It helps to know that you are praying for me and that I have all your support.  Sometimes it's unnerving, this cancer, and I wonder how it will all turn out, but then I remember,  I have all these people praying for me!  I am fine and strong and I will make it.  My husband continues to be my anchor and I don't know what I would do without his support.  I love him and my family very, very much.

Oh! my granddaughter, Kelly, lost her second tooth last night at dinner and used her new tooth fairy pillow last night  that I made for her.  She got 6 dollars from the tooth fairy.! But grandpa will give her more.  lol!!!

Thank you for all your support and love.  I love you all very, very much.

((( Linda )))

This is all so very good. I'm so glad you posted to let us know how things have been going. I look forward to hearing more as you go forward.

How wonderful about your granddaughter! I bet she just adored that pillow you made.

Sleep is a good thing. Your body can do some of its best healing work while sleeping. Your naps are healthy. :)

So glad you're able to eat and drink well. Hope the tastes come back to good. Maybe you don't need to worry about over indulging on the little luxuries right now? Anything that keeps you smiling is a good thing - as you'll heal better while you're happy.

Keep up the excellent work you're doing in getting better. You've come a long way and it all sounds very good.

*hugs*

Hi Linda. I'm glad you've let us know how you are doing. You have such a positive attitude! You are in everyone's prayers.

You are so lucky to have such a wonderful hubby and family. I don't have any grandchildren yet but I keep hoping. By the way is $6 the going rate from the "tooth fairy"? tongue

Hi Linda, Im glad that you have been able to continue to eat and like the nurse told me the other day. Eat what you want because your body needs this right now. Could you please tell me where you are getting your caps soon and do they cover your ears. I am definitely going to have to have the covered ear look. Praying that this will be over for you soon.

Hi Linda,

It is so wonderful to get such a good update on you.  You do have a good attitude and that is half the battle.  I love the story about your granddaughter losing her tooth at dinnertime and the beautiful tooth fairy pillow that you made her.  That was so prescious.

Please do continue to keep us posted on how you are doing.  I am so happy to hear that you are eating well and getting the rest that you need.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs, Karen

I am ordering the caps from a place called Hats for you.  It is on the web.  Just look it up www.hatsforyou.com and you should find it.  The one I ordered is a sleep cap and then two more and a shirred cap.  I can't wait to see what the shirred cap looks like and yes they do cover the ears.  I have large ears and need them covered as well.  Good luck to you too.  Are you anticipating chemo too Shirley?.  Sorry if I'm a bit confused.

Linda,

It's so good to hear from you again. And great to know you haven't lost a bit of your humor or your spirit! Plus, you have so many pulling for you, and that counts for a lot.
