Got a car and trying to figure out some stuff by looking it up online.  Only problem is I cannot remember for more than a few seconds what I am looking for.  I told hubby, "ok, I am looking for the how to use the navigation - so when I forget, you can tell me."  Then literally less than 3 seconds later, I had to ask him again.

When I came on here to tell you, I forgot what it was again and had to ask hubby again.  I must sound like a dope!

Sue, I understand the frustration. There are days where I feel like my brain just
isn't connecting the dots. On those days my problem solving capabilities go right out
the window. I read and have to re- read. Sometimes it helps to write things down in
simple steps...like an outline. It's as though I lost my mind...it's probably in the freezer!

Don't feel alone Sue. Though I know it can be concerning, thinking you might be getting alzheimers or something. But we all can relate. Thank God your husband is there to help you remember things. Try to focus on one thing at a time. Don't let your mind wander. Easier said than done I know, but try.

Hugs, Karen

Sue, I work on genealogy.  I will find something about a person and then want to check other places to see if the info is accurate.  But, by the time I get to the other sites, I can't remember what I was looking for!  So now I copy and paste some of it so it is right in front of me to use.  You could do that with searching info for your car.

This fog is very frustrating but the more you worry about it, the worse it will get...at least it does for me.  I've just come to accept it as part of this illness and do other things to help me remember.

I have mentioned The Memory Book several times on the forum.  I really need to get another copy, since I don't know where my copy is.  It does help a lot.  It is written by Harry Lorayne and Jerry Lucas.  And NO I did not remember the authors' names.  I had to google it!  smilewinkgrin    They sell it on Amazon.

Sue,

Why is it so funny when we hear about someone else's fog, and so frustrating when it's ours? Fog is my middle name....though it should be my first!!

Sherrine, I've been meaning to ask you - do you think ancestry.com is any good, and worth the money?

Debbie, I feel it is.  I only get the smaller subscription...$155 for one year.  My family came over in 1630 so there is a lot of history I have gotten from that site, along with copies of documents like draft cards, censuses, Revolutionary and Civil War info, etc.  I like this because I'm making books for my children.  I think they let you try it out...not sure about that though.

Thanks, Sherrine! I think I'll try it. I want to make books for my kids, too, someday.

Aww, Sue. Hang in there. I can't tell you how often I'm thinking something, get to the computer and WHOOSH it is gone. I'll be on the phone with my b/f, have two things to tell him, and by time I start talking about the first, the second one is gone. Here's an embarrassing one for ya ... I swear, I will use the bathroom and walk back three or four times thinking, did I press the little handle, or didn't I? *eye roll* That's my most annoying fog moment cuz it makes me keep walking back!
Why my username? It is real life nickname. I love chickens. Will have my flock of hens one day! :D .............. DX'd with Fibromyalgia, chronic hives, sensitivities and allergies, migraines with auras, tmj, and IBS. Not sure what else!

I'm there with you now. My husband took my keys away from me this week because the fog is so thick....

It will pass and there will be clarity... Hang in there

It was a precursor (did I say that right?) to a flare. Sunday I was in extreme pain for most of the day and nothing helped. Thinking better today and starting to feel better. Had to work today and did ok with thinking.
