Hi my fibro family!
Yes, you got it right if you guessed I fell down again sigh.  I was doing so good, well for me, and then I bit it last night while was outside with my 8yr old granddaughter,Lauren,so it was a good thing I wasnt there by myself.  I have flowers all over the dang front porch and back I have been dead heading them each night when the sun goes down cause its been hotter then,oh well you know lol.
I got to the planter of rock roses on my railing and I had forgot there was a stack of concrete stones almost right under the planter.  So I start doing what I was doing and I ran into the stone pile and started falled backwards and to my right side.  The stones had sharp edges on them and as I fell one of the stones cut a deep gash into my right leg and then I got a nice spot on my left leg when that got stuck so I scrapped it badly.  I also hit my right elbow and then hit my back and head. I probably scared Lauren to death when I started crying and she turned around to see me and I yelled at her to get Grandpa. Grandpa came running and helped me up and got me cleaned up.  So after waking it has been a mighty hurtfull day to say the least.
I have such trouble with my balance, and I need that with taking all these narcotics daily.  I have been taking antibiotics this week to see if the redness and swelling in my legs is cellulitis or with swelling in my lower legs due to vein problems.  Now my Mom has had problems since back when she got pregnant with all of us kids.  She had circulation issues that would put her in the hospital many times and finally she had her legs stripped of all the bad veins and she still has trouble with her legs.  I havent shown problems ever and now this?  I am praying they dont take my lyrica away if it is deep leg thrombosis, because I think I would die from the pain I used to get in my lower legs.  It was horrible,I used to stay with my legs propped up every night rocking and crying until finally I would just fall asleep from exhaustion. I dont want to go back to that pain.  I should know in about 7 days so pray or think  good thoughts for me,please?
With love,
sorry for all the edits, tired and not thinking clearly

Karen, I'm sorry that you fell again.  Since I was diagnosed with osteoporosis, I'm extremely careful and always watch where I am walking.  I know you were just standing but you sure need to move those stones!  You and Jason should walk all around your property and home and have him take up anything you can trip over, slip on, etc.  You have to make your home safe for you.  I'd get rid of throw rugs while I was at it.
I'll be praying that you don't have deep vein thrombosis.  You know, those stretching exercises I put on Fibro 101 were written to help prevent that when you are sitting for long periods of time on a flight.  You should probably start doing that.
Also, if you can find a good massage therapist, they can help with the veins.  I have vericose veins that will swell and hurt badly when the blood pools in them.  But, my massage therapist massages them and they go away!  She always massages the legs and then pulls up towards the hip.  When doing the lower leg, she will massage, run her hands up my leg to my knees and then massage behind my knee.  I guess there are valves (can't think of the term) that open and close to help with the flow of blood and they are behind the knee.  She also massages and pulls up towards the hip.  Maybe you can try it.  I do it sometimes but it's not like having her do it.  It is amazing how much better the veins are after a massage.

Oh Karen, this is so sad. Have you considered using a cane to help your balance? One of the those four-pronged ones? I hope you feel better soon. Diane

Karen, sorry that you took a tumble. Landing on those stones must of really hurt.
Saying a prayer that you feel better soon and hoping also that you don't have the
deep vein thrombosis.

I agree with Sherrine about going through your home and getting rid of things that
could possibly trip you up. You know the old ounce of prevention is worth
a pound of cure. Feel better soon and keep us posted.
