Hi again.... Just wanted to update. I posted about a week or two ago regarding my daughter and her horrible health care providers. Well..... she took my advise (lol... never listened to mom before but she was in enough pain I think she would listen to anything) fired her doctor and got a whole new set, Primary Care, Rheumey, Physical Therapist and a Gastro.... Yesterday was her first appointment with the new Primary and Rheumy and how awesome is it that they spent an hour with her seperatly and then a half hour with her jointly... They also said that "no, this is NOT in your head" and "yes, you are severe"....Wow... what a great thing to hear, the last doc said that there was really nothing he could do and thought she just needed to go see a shrink. They also referred her to the Gastro doc because both felt that there is something more than the Fibro going on internally. She was a premature birth and I was in the hospital from my 3rd month so there is reason to think there may be some develepomental issues as well. Anyway  They got her in to see the Gastro doc today, she spent an hour with her and then consulted with the Rheumy and her Primary via video conference with her there... again Awesome! She will be going in next Tuesday and they are going to do exploratory... She did warn that they are looking not only at her organs and tissue but that they will be looking for signs of cancer and anything that looks like it might develop into a cancer. Didn't want to scare her but wanted her informed.
I am so happy that she has finally found doctors that care and listen. So few and far between. Now maybe we will find out what all her health issues are about. It's more than the fibro and It restores my faith in the medical profession.
I am a worried mom, but also know that my God is in control and he will see us through.
Just wanted to share some good news for a change.

Wow. It's so nice to hear about great doctors; so many of us have been frustrated by a lack of compassion, knowledge, etc. with our docs. Thanks for reminding us that many really do go into the field of medicine because they want to help people.

I hope your daughter gets an accurate diagnosis and treatment so she can start feeling better soon!

Hugs - Austen

Awesome!  Yes, there are some fabulous doctors out there.  No one has to "settle" for doctors that don't understand fibro.  I'm really happy for you and your daughter!

That's great news! I'm so glad she found some of the good ones. That lessens your worry load, too, and you can't beat that.
