I know I have asked a lot of questions and here I am asking another one but I need to know I'm not the only one. I literally feel like I'm dying. This has been the worst weekend of my life

saturday i was going to take the kids to the library while my husband worked but by the time i showered I was so worn out I couldnt keep my eyes open. The shower mady me dizzy and I was in so much pain from getting dressed I couldnt take them I went back to bed and slept the rest of the day from the pain

The yesterday I was able to shower still feeling like I'm passing out but was able to get dressed. My husband took us to the library where i had to sit down most the time because walking just hurt so bad. In fact on the way out I almost tripped over the tile it hurt that bad to lift my leg. By the time I got home I was experiencing the following

headahce from you know where (it's in the back of my head and I've had it all weekend)
back pain
kneed pain
hard time concentrating
hot flashes
exseccive sweating
EXHAUSTED

I just feel like this week alone I have gone soooo down hill. I came home and laid down in my bed. I fell asleep and woke up a couple of times in a pile of my own sweat but hurt too much to move. i didnt really wake up for good till 8:30 when my kids were going to bed. I was supposed to turn a math test in last night and even with my dad's help I couldnt concentrate so I'll have to turn it in today for 10 points off.I let the kids have last week off school so I have to teach this week. I was suppose to have a homeschool mom's night out here tonight but have had to cancel....

I honestly just can't belive this is my life now. Tell me other people feel like this. This feeling is not going away.

Yes, we all have been through these experiences.  But, once you find what helps with your pain and get it under control, you will be fine.

Did you read Fibro 101?  There are some ideas there and also explanations of supplements that have helped a lot with pain and fatigue.

Laying in bed and sitting too much will make your pain worse.  You do need to keep moving.  Start out with gentle stretching exercises.  Then start walking.  When I started walking, I could only go four houses down and had to turn around and come back.  But I kept doing that and I could go farther and farther.  Now I walk my dog at least one mile in the morning before breakfast.  I don't feel like going but I know I will feel better and have more energy by the time I get home.  It's great getting out of the house and seeing the beauty all around me, too.  I also do all my own housework.  I have to pace myself but I get it done...not in the same time frame though.

Try moist heat, too.  You can get a Bed Buddy at Walgreen's and other places or  you can make one by taking a tube sock, filling it 2/3's full of raw long grain rice, and tying a knot at the end.  Pop it in the microwave and it gives off moist heat.  Of course hot showers help loosen  you and ease the pain.

I hope you are feeling better.  You can do it.  I know that because I have.  I've have had a great life so far in spite of this illness.  Attitude is hugely important, too, along with a good sense of humor.  I hope you have a doctor that believes in fibro and is willing to help you, too.  I only use over the counter meds like Ibuprofen with food and extra strength Tylenol, along with supplements mentioned in Fibro 101.  These give me control of the pain so I can lead my life and still be clear-headed.  The heavy duty stuff is horrible for me.  It knocks me out.  Let us know how you are doing.

Java, I've been through my share of horrible flares, I think we all have experianced
the overwhelming fatigue and nonstop pain, feeling so weak...like the worst flu ever.
Flares do end... thank goodness. There are some days I'm too tired to shave both legs:)

It does get easier as time goes by. You learn tricks to distract yourself from the pain.
In the beginning you are more focused on the pain and symptoms because it is still new
to you and is scary. Everything takes time. Learning to relax is important. Anxiety and
stress only makes you feel worse. I am sorry for all you are going through. Living
with this takes some planning, making sure you take time for yourself and doing what
you can do to help. Exercising, eating well, getting enough sleep and pacing yourself
is so important. Finding a good med combo that works for you is very important too!

hope your flare ends soon!

Hugs, Robin

I'm calling my dr to see what she has to say if anything. because I'm def about 10 times worst then when she saw me last wekk.

Sorry you are having such a rough time right now, I think one thing that helps me is the realization that there will come a day where it isnt as bad as right now. Just remember one day at a time. Its about all any of us can do.

I've had flare ups like this too. I'm still on a "trial and error" basis regarding my medications. I finally found a doctor that believes in my pain. My quality of life has gotten somewhat better but I still have chronic fatigue, headaches, and back pain every day. My main problem is dealing with the guilt of not being able to interact more with my 4 yr old son :( . I just deal with this one day at a time.

Glad its not just me. I'm still new to all this and its scary as hell when you FEEL muscles shearing inside your legs as you walk. KNOW you lifted your foot to step but find, as you fall, all you did was slide. It SUX to be a prisoner inside a body you once knew. However I have met people worse off then me so I take to heart in what Churchill said, "when your going through hell, keep going! To me the worst part is how your fine one day, down the next and AOK after that. No warnings or anything, just wham bam thank you man! Hate it. But hang in there, we can all vent together and help each other achieve some sort of normalcy.

I am in so much pain today I am still in my nice soft p.j bottoms because it hurts to even have clothing against my skin.  I feel like I have been doused in kerosene and set on fire, from head to toe.  I am weaning off both of my useless fibro drugs and I know the withdrawals are making the pain worse.  I swear, sometimes the cure is worse than the disease.  It's going to be a looooooong night.

Hey Jav

You sound like you are going thru it right now. I'm sorry to hear it. Pain....its just so not nice. Sometimes you just sit in bed in so much pain and cry and think...will this ever end. Bad days, are just that bad days....I hope that you can soon find a regiment that works for you so you can get some relief. I so know where you are right now, I think we all do, and its no where fun that is for sure. Sending gental hugs your way and strong hopes that your pain subsides so you get get some rest and relaxation.

Nope Stone...its not just you, we all have gone thru or are going thru this difficult time with flares, its part of who we are. Having a good attitude is hard, but a helpful thing. Its really hard sometimes, I know...

MySoul...the guilt of not being able to do things with your kids, family and friends...it can be such a burden on us sometimes. I wish I could say something to comfort you. Hopefully you will be able to find the right combo for you so that you are able to interact with your little one soon.

Donna-- sorry you are having a hard time too. Hope you are able to get free of the withdrawals soon and that your flare goes away fast!
