I saw some great older posts by Nana Monster, and want to say thanks for all the herbal ideas!  Just wondering how things are currently going??  I'm going to reread NM's posts and hopefully find some herbal relief.  Thanks again and God bless.

Hi Luvin,
The herbs are working good. I just came off of knee surgery a month ago and the knee isn't right yet. I've started a
large scale cycle of Super Cissus RX and I'm only doing one of Bio-Sil instead of 2 as I'm almost out. They did arthoscopy
to repair a large tear in the maniscus and shaved the bone. It still feels like a knife in it. I think as this surgeon didn't
believe in crutches or ice machines it didn't help the healing any. Just off the cutting board and onto the knee walking.
Man did it hurt.

A month before that I had a lipoma tumor taken out as it did something I've never had before....it started out with a
burning sensation and grew 3" in 2 months. As it was in my wrist 3" is a lot of area.

Other than that I'm hanging in there and healthy. I'm glad you like the herbal advice as there is so much out there
that can help us. As the only dr. drugs I do is the occasional Darvacet and Skelaxin I don't have to worry much about
interactions. There is so much the drs don't tell you. Like the new Humera can actually cause TB. My God, this really
frightens me. If you want you can always e-mail me as my address is included in the profile thing.
Godspeed and take care

Nana Monster, I'm sorry to ask a question in the middle of a post about something else - but I hope you might give me your perspective on this. I'm smack dab in the middle of neither really wanting to take pharmaceuticals, nor wanting to take many of the herbal products, although I don't mind some, and I do like looking at the nutritional aspects of treating diseases. How do you deal with doctors when you have to see them? Specifically, do they get all snitty when you don't want the pharmaceuticals? Is there some magic words that a person can say to a doc so they don't automatically think it is wrong to turn down their pharmaceutical offerings?

I've been a little worried that my application for disability might get turned down because I can't take many meds. Most I've tried made me react badly, and I just don't wany any more. I only take a couple minor things.

Sorry if this is off topic.

Princess,
It's not off topic. I used to take many of the stuff the dr pushed off on me to try and I reacted to most and the I started
to read all of the really horrible side effects in Arthritis Today. For the fibro I tried many things from the dr too and reacted
to them. I've lucked out and finally told him I was going herbal and keep him up to date on what I take, many of which
he knows absolute nothing about. I've been going to the same herbal shop for 30 years and I've been talking to a kid
which works there who is very up on the herbal side of things. He's the one who got me on the Super Cissus and Bio-Sil.
He had me take another combo of calcium/magnesium/vit D/zinc for the siactic and does it help.

I know the knee dr got all snitty when I told him I take herbals and he gave me a prescription for some high powered
arthritis stuff. I did 5 loads of trash in one day including cutting up tarps, hauling lumber, etc and was SORE so I tried
it.....Man did I pay, I itched so bad I was sent home from work as you can't scratch and handle dishes...not sanitary.
Needless to say that did it in for me. With the stuff I take I only had two dr visits last year for chemical induced sinus
infections that I couldn't kick. It was sooo good not to pay through the nose for visits.

I thought about going for disability as I'm 56 and some days have a hard time keeping up when the weather fronts get
bad but I'm gonna try to hang in there just to show up the 16-20 year olds. Gotta love us old farts.
Take care

Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time to write about this. Sounds like you are as sensitive and react to meds as much as I do. It helps hearing about someone else who walks a different path towards a cure, or at least towards relief. I often feel outnumbered when it comes to my views. I hope the new osteopath I'm looking to see will be more understanding and have more ideas for me. His profile page says he is holistic first and uses pharmaceuticals only if necessary. Thanks again.

I've noticed I react more to the synthetic drugs than the plant based ones like the darvacet. I hope things go well with the
osteopath, and please keep me posted on your results.

When I first started going to the herbal shop there was a guy there who was an herbal dr. I overheard a conversation
that really floored me. This woman about 30 said her mother sent her in to tell him "thank you and that the herbs
that he had given her were working". Her Mom had pancreatic cancer that was reversing when the stuff the drs had done
did nothing. Sometimes people like Mike are what we really need and just don't know it.
