Stacy, I started this introduction thread for you.  Welcome!  I'm glad you are here.
Hi Everyone,

My name is Stacy I am also new to the site it feels really good to know that you have good decent people to share your thoughts with about fibro.
I have IBS, severe migraines, chronic fatigue syndrome, low vitamin d levels, anxiety, depression, ringing in the ears, dizziness, impaired coordination, constant chronic pain all over my body can only work about 3-4 days per week which is getting harder and harder and my doctor told me I will get better. I was finally diagnosed with fibro after going to a Rheumatologist on my own because my doctor kept telling me i was to stressed out for the last year. Having this disease is no joke and people dont understand what it feels like to have it unless they experience it for themselves. At work people think I am crazy because I often fall asleep at work I cant help but complain about how much pain I am in all the time and all the paperwork is becoming to much to deal with half the time i cant remember how to do it because i forget things and cant concentrate on anything because of the pain. They say I look good thats on the outside. Sorry to ramble on and on i just needed to get that off my chest

Dx: IBS, Severe Migraines, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Low vitamin d levels, Anxiety, Severe Depression, ringing in the ears, dizziness, impaired coordination, constant chronic pain all over my body.

Meds: Lyrica twice a day 25mg, Cymbalta 30mg at bedtime with lunesta 3mg at bedtime<!-- Edit -->

Hi, Stacy, and welcome!  I'm glad you found us and joined the family.  Yes, we do totally understand what you are going through and we are here to help you.  Once you get control of your pain, you can live a full and enjoyable life in spite of this illness.  I know because I have!
Stress is blamed for a lot of things when doctors don't know what is going on.  That is maddening...at least to me.  Fibro is a recognized illness by several organizations, including the National Institute of Health.  Some of these doctors need to get with the program!
Be sure to check out Fibro 101...the first thread on the forum.  There are links to good info about fibro and you will learn a lot there.
I take malic acid/magnesium supplements and vitamin D3 and both of these have helped me a lot with my pain and fatigue.  There are links in Fibro 101 about these and how they work in your body.  I talked to my doctor about these before I started taking them.  I think it's important for your doctor to know everything you take...including supplements.
You do need to keep moving with fibro.  There are some good gentle stretching exercises in Fibro 101 that you can do sitting down.  This might help you at work.  Also, get up and walk around as much as possible.  This helps too.  You need a gentle exercise that you can do daily, too.  I walk and swim as my exercise.  This helps ease some of the pain and gives me more energy, too.  It really does help!
I'm happy you are here.  Don't hesitate to ask questions because we are here to help you.  I hope to hear more from  you soon.

Welcome Stacy!  I myself have dealt with the "she doesn't look sick" mentality, even from family.  I understand how hurtful that can be.  I think alot of people are just ignorant about Fibro.  I myself have been debating on cutting work hours for quite a while.  There is alot of caring and good advice on this forum and some wonderful information in the Fibro101 thread.  Keep us update on how you are doing.  Soft hugs! smilewinkgrin

Welcome Stacy! No you are not alone, and it isn't all in your head! Forums like this can really help you to feel connected.
Stress for me is a huge trigger for my fibro symptoms. So I do have to work on keeping that in check, yoga, meditation, walking, deep breathing, etc.
Since I am a private type of person and don't want people always to focus on the fibro, I end up not sharing with my coworkers or boss about what I go through. But then I find that is a problem, because when I am having a bad day, they have no idea why. Just recently when I need a sick day from it, I have actually been saying it's from the fibro instead of I just don't feel good.
You are with friends, so welcome.

Hi Stacy and welcome to our fibro family. I know how hard it is to try to work when all you want to do is find a nice soft bed to crawl into. I gave up my job last October because of the fatigue. I just couldnt push myself anymore I didn't have the energy. You have found a great group of people here, they have been so supportive of me and my problems. Dont be afraid to join in we love having new people here.

Hi Stacy!!

Welcome!!! I am sorry to hear you are going threw so much. Your work situation sounds oh too familiar to me. We know exactly where you are coming from. This is the most awesome place where you can come and vent, share good news, share not so good news, anything!!! I know that you feel alone at work, but you are not. We are have our ways of dealing with people at work, I usually just sorta say I have had better days, or I am ok, due to the fact that it its too much effort to go into everything, and honestly for me, I feel like they really don't want the whole deal. But unless you have Fibro, you really don't know. If I didn't have it, I would not understand it all either. We are here for you!!!!!
