Well I went to see my GP yesterday, what a difference from my last visit.
He had some off my OLD and I mean old Doctors [specialists] notes well in one letter he had a copy of it was to one specialist to another, it asked why it had been necessary for that doctor to have put poisions in my body when no test result showed I had anything wrong with me. What where the poisions you may want to know? Chemo and steriods. I had been on very larges of both that I remember, yes I lost my hair and my doses of steriods where masive I had 1,000 mgs of the steriods [ thanks to a wonderful chemist I got off that]
So my Doctor now has no problems handing me over any pain killers I need and any other drug he thinks will help me.
I was a lot worse when I saw both specialists, and the good one had me on 240 mgs of ms contin twice a day[morphine] twice a day plus 20 mgs of valium and a lot of other meds.
So I think my current GPA is only too happy to hand over what I take now as there is no way I am going back to that level of drugs again.
So for anyone who is having trouble with doctors giving them what they need just keep trying to get that doc to look into what you where taking. I wish I had had another look into my records years ago.
Now when I go to the pain clinic they will have a starting point to refer too.

That was good thinking Kathy,

What is it that you take now for pain? I take norco. It is a mild type narcotic. Kind of on the lower end of the scale, but I want to keep it that way so if my pain ever gets worse, I will be able to contain it with stronger meds if needed. I still have pain. Around a 3 or 4 on the scale of 1 to 10. But I can live with that. I hope that they gave you what you needed.

Hugs, Karen

Kathy, What was that doc thinking?...putting you on meds like chemo and steroids.
Those meds have their place, but for fibro????? Were you on a prednisone taper?
I take low dose chemo once a week for MCTD and I'm hesitant about it. Those
drugs have risks attatched to them and for a doc to use them unecessarily seems
criminal.

Hoping you can get wonderful treatment and are able to find the relief you need!

Hi Kathy, Im really sorry had to go through the chemo and steroids. I dont know where the dr. got his reasoning from but Robin is right. Both of these drugs can have serious side effects. Im glad that you are seeing a better doctor now.

The GP I had back then and another Specialist offered to go to court for me to have the DOCTORS charged with a lot of things I even had the Legal team who wanted to take the Doctors on. But we had 2 major things against us. Number1 They destroyed all my files that was 2 doctors and a specialist Rumy.
No 2 was my health they where worried that the stress of doing it would of killed me.
Well I will give you the info I remember, the only organ not effected was my heart and as I was told it was touch and go where it would hold up to the court case. What else oh yes with the drugs I was taking for all that was wrong with me to go off them to go to court would off killed me.
So it was put to us by both of the GOOD doctors was how much money was my life worth?
The legal team where looking at a very large payout, but after taking to my Doc's they did not want me to die to get that money.
One thing I have been left with just to add to the fibro is the damage done to the nerve ends from the chemo.
Because it had nothing to attack it attacked my body, just what I needed. It can do a lot of damage to a healthy body.
Welll one of these Doc's was the one my new rumy who wrote asking why I had beenput on poision. One good thing that came out of that time and the only good thing was the fact I was GENE tested by a neuroligest. It came back all clear and I will not get a lot of illnesses that carry in your genes.
I have asked to see a pain clinic so now it is wait to see how long to I see tham it could be 6 months.
At least one good thing I have learnt it to say my piece with GP'S I will never be at the mercy of a incominment of a Doctor.
