I had posted that link on the new criteria for diagnosing Fibro....well, I noticed there was nothing about hand pain on the chart. Is that not a normal Fibro symptom? My hands bother me a lot.... I can't hold a heavy glass, if i just move it the wrong way it gets all achy and crampy. Also, the area near my elbow aches a lot (not the joint itself but near the joint) as well as an area near my knee joint. But on the graph, the pain areas were only upper arm or lower arm, or upper or lower leg... nothing in between.

(please see my other post if you are confused)

Hi Kellie, I too have very bad hand pain didn,t know what it was, I had a emg test done and I have mild carpal tunnel. I have to wear wrists splints at nite when I sleep to keep my wrists from bending . Also I have suffering from very painful knees, really it,s my kneecaps. The right kneecap is not lined up straight the way it,s supposed to be so I have to do physical therapy and have both my knees wrapped. Hope this helps. There,s a long word for what the knee problem is called but it,s also called runners knee. You might look that up so see the symptons to see if that describes what you have. Hope this helps.

thanks... I had an emg test and it was all in normal range. At this point, I am just waiting to get tested for Fibro. The pain in my knee is kinda the side of teh knee , like one spot. In fact, it looks like where the tender point is, but it is hard to tell just based on a graph.

I have finger and hand pain almost like it aches alot. It happens more when I use it more. I think that it could be because of the fibro.

I have hand pain, which seems to have worsened over the past couple of years. Mine seems to center in my thumbs. They cramp up sometimes, and I either drop things or "shoot" them into the air. I think that I have lost some strength in my hands because of the fibro. Water exercise does seem to help with this for some reason. They have some squishy foam dumbbells that you can squeeze in the water.

I have frequent pain in my hands. I call them "elephant hands," because it feels like an elephant has been standing on them all night. It stinks when you can hardly hold on to a coffee cup.

Hi Happy Cat,

You are not alone. I have hand pain on a daily basis now. Especially my finger, but sometimes its my whole hand. I have found soaking them in really warm water helps me.

I have hand pain all of the time, but I think that is mostly from the RA and the carpal tunnel. I have tried Bio-freeze on my hands and that has somewhat lessened the pain.
